Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes!😘

Just another lockdown birthday she sings………🎼….(sort of courtesy of The Bangles!).  I didn't bother taking the day off as I'm busy up until I leave and there's really nowhere much to go and do at the moment!

Still I was very, very lucky.  I had some lovely cards, texts and emails – vouchers and flowers and plenty of booze from friends!  The boss sent me a particularly nice bouquet.  DD and OH have treated me to a monthly artisan cheese delivery – very vegan I don't think, but very much appreciated all the same!  🤣 DSis and her OH have bought me a spa day – DSis will be coming along too so we will share a nice relaxing day together.  I've just got to wait now until the restaurants are fully open and I can celebrate as normal with a birthday night out!

Oh and a lovely MSE real life friend sent me a retirement present – a beautiful cushion with some lovely words embroidered on it.😘

And one week today until R-Day!!!!😀

    SCRIMPY MSE THINGS

And (drum roll!)………….today was my last ever pay day!  I also received my yearly bonus and my tax free cash from my final salary pension arrived into my bank account as well.

So lunchtime today was all about moving pots around – I've transferred money over to my Marcus account and topped up the premium bonds.  I've also opened a Paragon Bank Cash ISA and will be putting the subscription through here.  Everything is now in place for when I decide to put the flat up for sale and buy another place.

Other things – I've bought some new underwear from M&S – I had some reward vouchers to put to this.  Also ordered some a couple of summer tops and treggings from Marisota as I had a 20% discount voucher.  And a couple of downloads from kindle.

Tomorrow is shopping and a catch-up coffee with a friend on Sunday

I’d forgotten it was St George’s Day, I don’t think much has been made of it locally. Yet on St Patrick’s Day we have parades and all sorts of celebrations.

I suppose it's because England has large Irish communities who like to celebrate their original home land.  And Look at the big parades in New York!
I think we used to celebrate St George's Day more years ago - I remember my mum telling me that men used to wear roses in their buttonholes on St George's Day before the war.

How exciting to just have one week left. I remember that feeling. I hope you get out for that birthday meal soon. We have had a few outside in this lovely weather.
