What is a dentist? It is that long since I have been able to get an appointment. I had my normal 6 monthly one due just after the first lockdown, cancelled of course. The last time I spoke to them they said we will ring you when we are taking appointments. Freely translated - get off the phone & stop bothering us!If you do decide to go for a SIPP remember to only draw down a small amount the first time as that will get them a tax code & should save you from having to sort out tax issues later.4

Bad-memory - I think the same receptionist in your dentist must moonlight in my doctors

To be honest I think she also moonlights at my docs too Munchin. I couldn't order my repeat prescriptions from the docs last year as usual, but had absolutely no choice but to do via the local pharmacy with whom I have had issues in the past.I've changed the pharmacy now - absolutely incredible! Original one delivered mine & I had to collect my son's first month, second month (they were supposed to be delivering both again) delivered DSs & I had to collect mine. Now do my shopping & collect all meds on the way out. So much easier. I am however a bit of a control freak & not knowing whether the meds were going to turn up sometime this week or even not at all was winding me up major style. And don't get me started on consultants, all he had to do was write a standard letter to the GP telling them about DSs new meds, over 6 months later I am still having to mither him for a prescription monthly. 2 mins to tell someone to type a letter & one to sign it, against 5 mins dealing with my messages every month, so almost an hour versus less than 5 mins so far. And as for parking, every visitor car park has builder's fabricated buildings in it so there is even less parking than there was before, there isn't even room to park illegally! My friend tells me I get wound up too easily, I probably do, but then he would probably park in an ambulance space & not even get done for it!4

Thank you all for your posts guys.😀
I'm still alive! It's been ages again since I've posted. Mind you at work we have entered our most busiest period of the year and it won't let up till mid-April. What with another project running alongside the usual work, I've been flat-out during the day and not felt much inclined to look at a PC or iPad screens after I've knocked off for the day. I've tended to collapse on the sofa and watch TV!
Still it's not long now to the big R-Day! On Friday it will be five weeks to go! Hooray! Though I will be working over the Easter weekend as since I won't be doing much still I'm taking the opportunity of quiet time (no work calls or emails pinging away) to pull all my leaving notes, etc. together ready for when I go.
I'm still mulling over different choices for the DCB pension – have a few things going around my head and will come to a decision in the next couple of weeks.
I have met my friend for coffees over the last couple of weeks now that restrictions have been slightly lifted. We get a takeaway and socially distance on one of the benches in our local public garden. It's so nice to actually speak to a personal like this rather than on the phone and zoom/Teams calls!
MSE SCRIMPY THINGS
Nothing much to report here – I've not bought anything unbudgeted for. It's payday tomorrow so will be sorting out my YNAB pots tonight.
I am going to make a big concerted effort now to write a daily post!

I took early retirement last year, decision was made to finish way before Covid raised its ugly head. So not quite the retirement I had planned so far but must admit it’s nice and relaxing at the moment. I also thought work would drag up until i finished but it whizzed past. Good luck for the next couple of weeks hope they go quick for you.xx

Wow five weeks isn't long SSG, that will fly by and at least restrictions should be lifted at bit by then. You must be feeling quite excited about it
.
I'm glad you were able to meet a friend on a bench. From Monday we'll have more freedom and from 12th April we can shop until 10pm! I don't think I'd want to shop that late and I feel sorry for shop staff, but hopefully it will stop everyone from being in shops at the same time 🤔.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
