Happy Easter SSG xx You've just reminded me we get a day off for the Queen's birthday, will make sure I book it in when I get back from leave.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Eleven hours sleep  you must have needed it SSG. I love your colleague's quip about formented grapes and soaked hops :rotfl:.
I'm tempted to get out summer clothes but I'm convinced that it'll get cold again if I do :rotfl:. It was warm enough for summer clothes today, but my feet aren't sandal ready yet. I need to give myself a pedicure.
Your flat must be so clean and tidy as you seem to spend a lot of time doing housework. It puts me to shame.
I hope you enjoy your four day weekend.

HH I got my summer clothes and sandals out when we had the last batch of good weather, which is why it got colder
I always keep some jumpers out though, just in case.

Don't forget SA! We need all the holiday from work that we can get!
I'm the same with keeping some warmer clothes out when doing the seasonal shift. It's a good job I've left boots out as I think we're in for some rain down here this week!HairyHandofDartmoor wrote: »Eleven hours sleep  you must have needed it SSG. I don't really spend that much time actually cleaning Hairy. I don't even like housework that much – I just like the nice, clean, peaceful home that results from it! Because of the annual November monthly clean-up I write about in my diary, I think it sounds like that's all I do!
My go-to time for weekly cleaning is on Saturday morning (Sunday if I'm doing something on the Saturday). I'm a bit of the flylady type of cleaner in that I do her "Weekly Hourly Home Blessing" – i.e. zoom through dusting, then polishing any mirrored/glass surfaces, sort out any catalogues/magazines that need throwing out, take out rubbish, hoover and steam floors (only the traffic areas), change bedclothes (but do this on Sunday). It doesn't take that long, but afterwards I also rotate rooms per week (this week it was the living room/hall) and go over these a bit more thoroughly – i.e. polish more, give the floor a good clean by pulling out furniture, etc, etc., whatever is suitable for that particular room. I also do flylady's daily "Swish & Swipe" in the bathroom after showering each morning – this only takes a few minutes.
That's it really, but of course, it does help that it's just me living here and the flat's not that big!:DFinally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I had a lovely, lovely weekend encompassing my birthday! Went out with girlfriends on Saturday evening to a relatively new local Italian restaurant – we had such a good time – only downer was that our friend recuperating from her throat cancer op is still not up to going out socialising and one other friend is also recuperating from a knee op so couldn't make it either. After the meal we went back to my other friend's flat for a drink. As one of us remarked drily – "You can tell we're getting old - we're all drinking coffee!":rotfl:
On the Sunday I went down to the seafront to watch my friend's daughter who was singing for charity in a band there. Beautifully hot day, blue sea and a good, happy crowd!
Yesterday I relaxed more (went to Aldi – I know how to live!).:D
The Entertainment fund has taken another knock and I'm in debit again here - a chunk of this was the restaurant - £52! – but it was my birthday so……………! And £9.80 spent on drinks at the charity gig.
This morning I received a birthday Selfridges voucher from everyone on our desk in work – I'm going to go up to the West End one lunch time this week and buy a new Longchamp totes bag to replace my existing one which I've had for ages and is getting rather shabby now. They're not that cheap but I like them and they do seem to last and never date.
I've got birthday cakes to buy for work colleagues, but will leave this till tomorrow as not everyone is back in work today.
The other thing was that I've ordered new undies from M&S via loyalty vouchers and gift cards. And also ordered the black tower fan from Argos that I want before they all sell out if we get a summer heatwave! £63.94 inc. postage, but this will come out of the extra bonus pot I'm getting on payday.

Great to hear you had a good birthday and what a weekend weather wise. Your cleaning routine sounds like mine, instead of swish and swipe , I say tickle up.
All your purchases sound very sensible , especially the bag . Can you get that from selfridges ?
Have a good Tuesday .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
I think the entertainment fund was spent well
The bag (cost per use) is a bargain too.
Glad you had a nice birthday. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Happy belated birthday SSG :bdaycake:. I'm glad you enjoyed your Italian meal with friends.
Your cleaning routine sounds very organised. I think I need to develop a proper routine as I tend to just clean things when they look dirty. Although it's harder as our house has two floors plus an attic room, so two flights of stairs to hoover. Plus 4-5 inhabitants make for a lot of mess to tidy up .
Ordering a fan before it gets hot is an excellent idea. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi SSG - Happy belated birthday from me
.
I'm the same with the weight loss - I've lost 1stone 6lb since Xmas but I feel like it could have been more. However my sister reminds me that if I had been more rigid I probably would have given up by now and be even heavier and more miserable.
You are doing brilliantly and heading in the right direction.0 -

Yes Selfridges sell Longchamp bags SG. Not all the department stores stock them - House of Fraser do but John Lewis's don't.
I haven't got around to buying my new tote after all. I've ended up been quite busy in work this week so haven't had time to go up to the West End. Will try again next week.doingitanyway wrote: »I think the entertainment fund was spent well

Thanks DIA. Yes the cost per use has worked out really well as I use it most days. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
