You didn't answer my question in post #28. Any update?

I'd appreciate useful advice rather than 'are you being serious'.

    Thanks,

I did qualify that by asking why, and then added to my post when I had another moment.

Hi Umkomaas, haven't written those letters yet, I next on my to-do list.

    Thanks fisherjim, just seen that.
I have no idea how to communicate that to UKPC apart from inwriting, and no guarantee I'll receive a response before the deadline set by debt recovery. I don't want to play fast and loose with county court as we're looking to buy a house soon and don't want this on record.

Debt Recovery Plus (I assume) are basically powerless Muppets that are sent your details by UKPC as as a third party (it looks more sinister that way) to bully you and send intimidating letters.

They will also lie and twist things to get you to cough up to them with an additional £60 on top that they trouser just for the privilege and fun of doing this.

They cannot actually do anything else, they will not take you to court but use ambiguous writing to misdirect you into thinking they can.
Their deadline is a joke nothing else!

Sometimes they even use different notepaper headed Zenith collections and by the seventh letter even drop the charge down to £80 in desperation to get something.

Don't fall for this in the end they give up and go back to UKPC with their tail between their legs and say we give up he's not fallen for it.

The charge then has to revert to UKPC' original charge and they may decide to try court, at which point you could defend or pay up.

You won't get any bad marks on your credit record from Debt Recovery companies, or UKPC they are just private company chancers.

The only way you would get a bad credit rating is it it went to court, you lost, and then refused to pay and a county court order was issued.

So take a deep breath and don't just give in when you have got so far against these bullying Muppets.;)

You do not respond to DRP. You ignore them. Standard forum advice. They cannot instigate legal proceedings, only UKPC could do that, and having lost 3 times at POPLA on the same issue, do you think they'll chance their arm?

You won't be playing 'fast and loose' with any county court, you just follow the process and defend any case against you (unlikely, see above).

Should you 'lose' at county court nothing appears 'on your record' (this isn't a criminal issue). If you lose and costs are awarded against you and you don't pay by the deadline set by the judge (normally 1 month) then you would get an unsatisfied CCJ which can affect credit rating - but you are totally in control of that, unless you're daft enough to ignore the judge's orders.

    Thanks for the advice guys.
I'd rather be proactive to be honest rather than wait n see.. so do you recommend writing to UKPC in the mean time?

The one difference with this ticket compared to the others is they've sent a NtK with a pic (previously they hadn't got the NtK issued in time). Not particularly fussed about that, but POPLA aren't involved now so they might want to play their own game.

Btw, I've just emailed the council. Will advise on response. Going to write to DVLA aswell.

As others have confirmed - your credit rating is UNAFFECTED as long as you don't ignore court papers (e.g. when you do move, email UKPC and tell them your new address). You can contact UKPC by email now anyway:

    appealmoreinfo@ukparkingcontrol.com

HTH - saves wasting a stamp on them. They are not worthy of any money.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What do you intend writing to UKPC? You're beyond the initial appeal/POPLA stage and they've off-loaded it to DRP. Not sure what you are trying to achieve. Have I missed something?

Simply wondering if there's any point in writing to them. If it's a wait n see, then it's a wait n see..
