Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi. Mine does 50mpg, costs £120 to tax and fits a family of five and their luggage. Avoid ones that have been taxis and you should be fine buying cheap off eBay.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Or indeed any 1.9TDI PD VAG car will do. Passat, Golf, Polo, Bora, Fabia, Octavia, Superb, Leon, Ibiza, etc.0

Annual mileage low to average about 5000 I guess.0

BeenThroughItAll is correct, but with that low annual mileage, I'd also recommend any 1.6 diesel or 1.4 petrol VAG model. The comments I post are my personal opinion. I have an old car which only does 30 mpg and tax costs about £240 a year.
Thinking about changing it and looking for ideas, any suggestions? Mainly just myself driving. Also considering a 125 bike but car is better if it rains!Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi. So how much will have to be spent to save £120 VED and 20mpg?

Diesel on 5000 miles?0

I have a 2012 1.3L Corsa diesel, I get an average of 62mpg (all driving), pay £20 road tax, £156 insurance and do about 5000 miles/year.
No big repairs other than normal wear & tear, starts every day no matter what the weather and not too shabby on acceleration.0 -
