Thanks all. Great tips.
The quote I have is from an independent builders merchant to put up the 50ft by 6ft fence with cement posts and 6in/12in cement border at the bottom with slotted panels. The quote has come in at around £950 plus £108 to remove the old fence. I am not sure yet if they will take credit card as payment.
Is this quote too high? Maybe I should look for someone independent - in the Kent area? How do I go about finding one?0 -

Totally forgot about that site.0 -
Ask friends if they have had to replace a fence and who they used.
Use google and phone various firms up and ask for a quote.0 -

What you could do (what I do)
Get your 0% credit card and spend it on stuff like the weekly shop, fuel ect. Put the money to 1 side, buy any materials you might need on your credit card and use the money you have put to 1 side to pay the tradesmen. That way, one way or an other, it's paid for on the card at 0%.
Or instead of all that faff, just apply for a money transfer card instead

Always, always get more than one quote/estimate. Without that, you have no idea how expensive or cheap it really is.
Personally, I always obtain a minimum of 3 quotes/estimates, then compare them to decide. Some do more.0
