From Virgin to Tiscali

When I change from Virgin to another provider does the modem provided by Virgin still work or do I have to obtain another modem. It seems that Tiscali will do all the work for me when I provide them with a MAC code, is this right?

Hi scruffyone,
even if it would work(it probably wont) you are better off using the recommended modem from your new ISP, cos that would be the first excuse the customer services would give you (that you were not using their recommended modem) if you experienced problems....

From the frying pan into the fire, seriously Tiscali are not highly recommended and I personally wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy

scruffyone didn't mention cable, so he may may Virgin over ADSL (especially since he mentions providing a mac to Tiscali, which is not applicable to cable BB) and so the modem may work....
