Which police force are you commissioner for? Prevention of crime is one desired objective of the police. Detection of offences is another. Speed Cameras = Detection. Prevention isn't necessarily part of detection.

In fact, detection is the Police's responsibility alone. Prevention is incumbent on the motorist too. I would say most of the responsibility for prevention is the motorist's alone. No one is forcing you to drive at an illegal speed. So grow up and take responsibility for your own actions.
