It’s quite good fun but it also take out a pound for each DD and standing order so you should see something each week plus you can add a weekly DD to it. I think you’ll enjoy it. I am first payment today.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Plan to move to Denmark for FIRE by Autumn 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Nice weekend been a bit of a week two Christmas parties and one very long day but all good now course tomorrow then only two days in the office which is about right as I should get everything done bar any last minute hiccups.
Got most of my presents bought need something for my mum but we are also going to do a special day out for her in March when it’s her birthday.
Need to buy at least one present in Denmark so they can exchange it if it’s not quite right but that’s ok. Also got the chain set I gave my niece for her birthday it got stolen in their burglary so that was nice to replace that.
Got my pre course stuff done quite a bit actually and also updated my finance spreadsheet I forgot to email it to myself but it’s all up to date. My cash savings are a bit low as I’ve now got more premium bonds so migth move some from Aldermore only pay 1% as I’ve got money going into investments every month and I want to make sure I can cover it. A lot of my regular savers ends in January so more finance stuff to set up but that’s all good. There is a new savings bond from national savings 2.2% and no limit so think I shall make use of that in January when my fixed one with Aldermore ends.
Had some pasta for dinner feel crab crash coming on I do prefer eating low carb but once you start being bad it’s hard to stop.
Hope everyone is organised for Christmas and have a relaxing Sunday evening.Save £12k in 25 No 49

So I’m in Denmark with the family really lovely and nice to be part of the traditional preparation in particular tonight little Christmas Eve. A little bit cross with DG she’s opened her Xmas present even though is promised to wait. She even lied about it which was stupid not sure we quite hold the same values at Christmas so best to keep things seperate.
Bought loads of sweets already and ate loads of carbs I know it’s bad but what can you do. Tomorrow is the big day going to church first at 2pm with my dad and nephew my mum should also be coming.
Wrapped all the presents apart from my friends but I see her after Christmas so that is ok. Also bought three pairs of shoes two pairs where half price Ecco so a real bargain the last pair £20 off and I need them for bootcamp.
Nice to spend my danish money and not worry about it going to have to get my log ins sorted while I’m here plus get some of the money invested. My dad asked if it was ok he drew up a will that divided things in 5 instead of two to include the kids and my BIL I said it was fine he as pleased. I would leave things to my niece and nephew anyway. My dad hasn’t got that much he lost a load when they got him to invest in his bank at the time and it then crashed but never mind I’ve had enough inheritances for now.
Need to start cooking dinner soon feel like I’ve just had lunch drinking beer at lunchtime never a good thing.
Wasted money fund up to £3k just paid bootcamp so once dg pays be back I can add more. Also just said I would transfer my cash isa to Zopa when they accept transfers into the new innovative ISA.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I’ve had a really nice time enjoyed it all and spent lots of money but it’s my inheritance so not impacted on my UK money and all stuff I needed. Ok spending £55 on a PJ is excessive but long Tall sally would have cost the same and it’s much nicer.
Wonderful seeing my friend who is breaking up from her husband, they have an 8 year old daughter but they were never suitable I think she panicked wanted kids and got him. He’s harmless but boring and useless and from a very religious family unlike her so not a good match. Hopefully she’ll sell the house soon and they can both move on. She’s hoping to meet someone new in a few years I really hope she does she’s lovely and very hardworking nurse in a cancer ward.
Not been outside a door today just chilled tomorrow is shopping I need so return the long johns I bought for our bootcamp they don’t fit and I don’t like the ski socks too long. We also need to buy stuff for New Years Eve. Just watched th3 Danish version of bake off lots of ideas.
Sorted my Danish gov.uk ID out and the bank so I can can now invest my inheritance need to do this but need to understand it a bit better. It will pay out once a year hopefully enough for a lovely holiday spending money.
My mum is 75 in March but she’s booked two nights in a posh hotel with eighth course dinner for all of us at the end of April. DG will come too and we can visit my sister and go to Germany for the day. Might mean I miss my usually July holiday but we shall see. It does mean it’s easier to do Gambia in March which would be amazing. We shall see.
I’ll sort out finances and goals for next year when I’m back home but savings are up to £3000 short of the £10k needed to replace wasted money but I’ll get there. I need to shuffle things around as I’m almost of our ready cash and I invest almost £6k a month in pension and ISA etc but it should all be fine with regular savers maturing and some other ready cash.
I’ve bought a lot worried it will all fit in suitcase but I can leave loads here which is cool. Anyway enjoy your weekend catch up soon.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Home again journey went well case unpacked and first load on DG not back until tomorrow and I have work of course.
Got in at 7pm immediately went and did the first couch to 5k run loved it not too difficult and would like to keep it up. Three times this week should be ok maybe compress it a bit would be handy for bootcamp which is one month away.
Dg is a bit broke so I think we’ll do a kind of financial challenge this month we have bootcamp and holiday in March to pay for. I need to start different savings pots I think maybe new tax year when I know what is what.
Got a few financial bits that needs doing so here is my to do list for next week:- Do two more runs hopefully do trial run at gym
- Fill in form to transfer Santander isa to Zopa
- Withdraw Aldermore flexi savings so payment to pensions and investments can be done 10/1
- Look into what investments I am going to make with Danish money option is Danish fund split shares and bonds but all Danish bias I would prefer global but higher charges so study to do might ask on investment board.
- Sign up for 2018 save £12k in a year
I think that’s enough.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Nice win on the Premium Bonds 6x£25 and 1x £25 on the ones in DGs name.
Sorted ZOPA out and did my second run but wasn’t very productive at work actually left early just wasn’t getting much dozen but the light got fixed at work so my office is much nicer to be in. Our external emails aren’t working so quiet start to the year I’m sure it will ramp up tomorrow.
Lunch done for tomorrow and Tesco delivery yesterday with £9 off £60 means we don’t have to venture to the shops. Going to give the new iTV drama a go at 9pm if we aren’t asleep.
Run was fine a bit harder than Monday as my legs more tired but still enjoyed it. Dg is coming Friday but problem is she’s really short and I don’t think she’ll walk as fast as me so not sure it’s actually going to work. We shall see we still need to do trial run at gym.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Done three runs this week and went with DG tonight to do her first one but she’s left her adaptor at work so had to borrow mine so i didn’t have any headphones. I’m pleased with my progress we’ve also done some floor work tonight, plank and twists.
Spendy day today booked our holiday to Gambia cannot wait going 2nd March dor a week in same top room we went last time b&b only but it’s quite cheap out there. DG has had to borrow £1500 of me she will pay be back over the next year.
Also spend £20 on stuff for bootcamp and spent £30 on hiking boots for DG for bootcamp. Went to play golf but left my shoes behind actually thought I have lost them. Luckily I hadn’t which was a great relief as they are super expensive and had my insoles in them.
Need yo sort my money out will have to take the holiday out of the savings I have but as a lot of my regular savings are maturing that will be ok.
Doing well on cutting down on caffeine just had a chai latte at home really nice but feel a bit funny now. DG brought some black butter back from Jersey my gosh is it lovely with cheese and biscuits, we will be back on the low carb diet tomorrow and I’ll do my next run as well. Fitting some golf in only went to the range today as no shoes.Save £12k in 25 No 49
