Hi SuzieSue the courses are free here is the link https://www.futurelearn.com/courses I'm doing managing my investments and one of the finance fundamentals. You do have to pay if you want a certificate which I don't.

I'm really enjoying it although I should be studying Safeguarding instead as it's a skill I need for work it's just so boring I find although important.

Didn't make gym last night DG didn't feel well but made a ryebread and had it with fried fish for dinner really nice same again tonight. Going back on low carb diet suits me so much better and I've got least six pounds to loose.

Today will be more CV writing and competency based application writing, hopefully get started on safeguard. Gym later but might go out just to leave the building for a bit don't need anything bar blueberries also nice to get free latte at Waitrose DG gets me the cups.

Starting to feel better antibiotics kicking in and last day of eye drops so nice to be done with them. Still wake up with dry eyes but only time I feel different from before op. Obviously lovely to be able to see and not to worry about lenses and glasses. Must phone Specsavers they took the March payment for my lenses very naughty.

Procrastination should be writing job applications but it's quit boring. Got application form for one of the two jobs both maternity leave. Looks ok but not quite what I wanted however would be good practise applying for the other one I like more. Then Martin Lewis email shows me he's looking now that looks really really cool I'll apply for that.

Did make it to the gym yesterday really good walked back not paying for bus only down there so total spend yesterday £1.50. Going again tonight

Still not done everything on to do list although I have applied for my EICH card again MSE email.

Might come back and write more later really need to get on with cv updating needs to be bespoke for this job. Hate covering letters but needs must.

Been hard at applying all day only sent one off it's for a health charity which I don't particularly want it's a maternity cover low-key end of pay scale however it's almost identical to the health charity maternity cover I do want. I've written the other application but not due yet so will do them Monday and get that off. Not sure when the MSE one closes can't but yet it only came out this week.

That's three in a week which I think it is ok just surprised how long it takes to do them and how they now all seem to ask for competency based application and cv and cover letter.

Anyway spend today £10 at home base the builders had smashed my lemon tree pot up but i found the tree unharmed so got new pot and soil. So annoying it was expensive and a gift from my sister is I hope it really is ok and unharmed. Also got soil for my oleander it was lovely in the garden today really want to grow veg again but they have used the outdoor tap so would have to carry water from kitchen if I grew courgettes again maybe my gardening bug will have to lie dormant until we move back down South. So miss my garden and green house at this time of year.

Right enough woes from me DG is calling her mum so will be back soon I'm so tired so early night then golf tomorrow and seeing friends. Break from job applications.

Oh dear, you make me feel really old. I don't even know what a competency based application is!

The last time I applied for a job was around 15 years ago and I just gave the recruitment agency a CV. I didn't even have to do a covering letter.

I think it is much harder now so I hope I never have to apply for another job.

Best of luck with the job hunting.

Thanks that's kind of you I've been lucky not having to apply for many jobs my track record prior to last Summer was to get first one I applied for and I even got headhunted once. It's a pain but at least they are similar so you get into the grove of doing them.

DG just gone off to work early wash on and I'm eating breakfast. I need to pack overnight bag sort my clubs out as I have a tee time st 11.15 with friend. Then it's hair cut then Chinese with another friend before staying with thrid friend going back tomorrow. Look forward to it actually miss them.

Got my £40 back from Specsavers but still loads on to do list.

Email contact so say I'm looking for a job
Register for test for my professional association done
Tidy up paper work sort out what is what into proper folders.
Look into cost of bus pass versus pay as you go only need zone 2 at least. Done not worth it can use visa contactless
Apply for jobs found two maternity covers. One done one to go plus MSE job
    Make ryebread done
    Sell gold.
Transfer money to my Danish account
Check regular saver is set up finally. Done
Sign up for safeguarding courses half way through
Register so I can book GO app online and book one
Phone Specsavers get £40 credit done

Bit of a disposer Friday hit a motorway closure so didn't get to play golf however managed to do some charity shop shopping (baked cheese dish as new £2.50 £8 new and some long shorts £3) got my hair cut and love it she understands my curls. Also managed to see three of my lovely old volunteers and have dinner with old colleague. Then back to friends and drank far too much Cava so hungover today but she's worse.

Got my car valetted £15 and it's brilliant, bargain shopping in Wilko don't have one up here plus a Costa to help the hangover.

Not too spendy after all. Back here at 3pm didn't hit any traffic and quick nap needed. Cooked dinner and done a couple of hours on my Open Uni course really enjoying it. Lots to learn and it's taking my quite a while as there's a discussion board so decided to postpone the course starting Monday to a June. Much better. .

Seeing my lovely friend and previous CEO on Thursday can't wait I know she'll help me work out what is the right next step and also analyse what when wrong in last job. I don't want to dwell on it but move forward. Not done any job hunting but really enjoyed being back "home" with friends. I know I belong down there but my career is definitely up here my friend who is now running my old works place is on £26k it's ridiculous she should be on at least £35k and up here it would be £40k.

She's also working far too many hours and weekends and has really painful hips just not right and I'm worried about her,

Going to catsit for my friend bank hols end of May. Perfect Fri to Mon and we get to dentist and hair coulouring (I want highlights I'm so mousy). She gets to go to Cornwall and support her husband doing coast to coast walk for MacMillan.

Saw my house (friend lives next door). They keep their curtains closed day and night not sure why as it isn't that overlooked hardly at all. Tenants no bother she says notvreally spoken to them lawn looked liked it needed a cut I couldn't really snoop in the garden but I hope they look after it just a little bit I did love it and my greenhouse looks in good nick at least.

Think that's it for my updates hope your all enjoying the start of a new month.

Bit of a spendy day didn't get selected for printer trial so bought one £69 but can print from iPad and phone and it's wireless will be so much easier. All set up and working so DG can read my job applications and I can get them off this evening.

Not been to gym has to wait in for DGs phone to be delivered.

Cooked a huge dish in the slow cooker so freezer can get stocked also good for lunches. Completed last weeks online course and passed test now I am up to date.

Update for to day I got Refund from EE had to call them as they charged me £7.49 for unlocking my phone should have been free.

DG has checked my application forms they are ready to go once I do final check tomorrow. Met new person moving into tiny room Previous guy was no bother he worked nights not sure about this one he wants to use our telly as it's in the lounge can't really say no. We are so used to having that room for ourselves hopefully he won't use it that much.

Getting there slowly been to the gym as well today. DG on her way home looks like she might have avoided redundancy so scored a lot better than other person. I'm really proud of her she's definitely a grafter and a good solicitor.

House meeting tonight dreading it as I instigated it but not a lot to say. New person moving into tiny room he looked keen on the lounge we have created I hope we can put him off when we want to use it.

Applied for all three jobs and sent email on the off chance for another one. Got two more to do but only CVs and covering letter so not too bad.

To free golf tickets for event first bank holiday should be good course I always wanted to visit.

That's it really boring but chilled this afternoon instead of job hunting which was nice also froze my batch cooking from yesterday three potion for lunch and four for dinner. Bargains in Waitroses reduced section today. Post pizza £1.79 and fish pate 69p

Such a lazy day yesterday it was sill couldn't me asked to pick up car in rush hour so doing it today.

Lots on today gym at 10 then pick up car
Meeting old CEO and friend At 3.30 to sell my gold first at Hatton Garden as recommend by MSE So can go there first. Could drop keys and pass off st old work if I can be asked.

New guy moved in yesterday DG is getting quite worried about him sharing our living space it's all communial so he can it's just none of the others do. Hopefully she'll settle down and he won't use it problem is his room is smaller than a prison cell it's ridiculous.

Found another couple of interesting jobs on Guardian Jobs will have a go one doesn't say what charity it is and one has a broken link to the website so might be rubbish but you never know.

I think that's it for now best get up.

Good day yesterday nice to see old CEO she said a lot of things that made sense so I'm grateful I met up with her she's also an excellent reference.

Done Tesco order £8 of £40 worth it even with £3 delivery and booked tee time for Saturday and I'm still in bed

Today I want to be productive saying that I'm still in bed. I'm speaking to a good friend I've lost touch with today at 2pm will take a while so need to get stuff done before. My list looks like this:

-Cleaning min toilet and lounge, bedroom done
-transfer money to Denmark now gold is sold tidied up all my paperwork to find details of DK acc but didn't
    - email agent that looks after place I fancy working at but need smaller CV not done
    - washing first load on already done

I think that's it might update later.
    - complete safeguarding course just about to do DG is doing some work too
