Just be aware that when buying from certain retailers. eg. cpw your phone will lock to the first sim card you insert, so IF you do decide to change providers at some point getting the phone unlocked might be a pain. Phones direct from Apple don't auto lock to a provider.

Worth checking out these guys for seller refurbished models. I got my daughter a 5c via these guys and it was in very good condition.

£350k in total plus I obviously got the whole house so that's another £300k I really don't feel any different and it isn't really a life changing amount that you could just sit back and relax but nice it is indeed.

£650k would change my life :)

VandaFC very good point re the locking Apple is probably the way to go for a 7 but worth looking at refurbished thanks for the link.

Popgirl you are right and thanks for popping in reading it back I do sound like a right spoilt b I t c h I am grateful and it has changed things I can work four days and still make the same money I did last year due to my rental income. The house was always half mine and I did work hard to pay it off and I did let DH stay in it for free unfortunately it didn't end well for him. I have been thinking about him a lot lately stopped at a place that sold Biltong on Sunday really lovely stuff and he introduced me to that. Obovusly I saw his dad and I've now paid off he funeral bill maybe it's all becoming a bit final. We did have some good time a lot of them and maybe just maybe things could have been different had he cut down years ago before his body got too damanged. I still know I had to get out and I'm still glad I did as it moved my career forward and I got to live up here.

Maybe I do miss him sometimes maybe who knows not in a good mood tonight work was difficult and I felt inadequate and not good enough.

Tired so will go to bed DG is talking to her mum had two low alcohol beers earlier just one of those nights pasta as well from stores so avoid takeaway costs.

    Night night all

Feels like it's been a long week only four days but not taking Monday off but will have Friday off and an extra day to take whenever. Sorted getting glasses prescription for last two years from two Specsavers. I also took a payment holiday from my lenses got tons left and might not be needed them for much longer. I'm sure I pay upfront as well. £40 a month saved but paid this month already.

Been to the gym on my own third time this week DG is at a leaving do she did come Weds to PT session. Can't wait to go to new gym 25/2 that starts last PT session 24/2 I think I'll be ok without that and it's £70 a week so not very MSE.

Shower done washing on eaten a pasty from station £4.25 so expensive in London but I don't do it often. Rare night on my own so not sure what to do might actually have early night really tired.

We had an inspection from guardian company they want us to stop using an storage in this place which is stupid as there's loads of rooms you couldn't live in but can use for storage (no windows). It's a money making scheme from them so obvious but we have said we'll pay for one extra room and stop using the third toilet we have storage in. It's not usable anyway but hey ho. That means getting rid of loads so job for weekend. We have spread out and we still have huge storage room off kitchen and there an unused cupboard in the kitchen I want to fill up as well. We should be fine actually. Good to tidy up anyway.

So that's it for now hope you're all having a nice Friday night.

Woke up to no power in our room and no internet obviously. Fixed by a guardian who has the switch thingy in his room (lucky he was at home). One washing machine is now off so only one between 8 not good we do have an electrician maybe he can fix it. Most people here are away so it's nice and quiet actually.

All tidy up of storage areas done looks much better and we should be fine I think now. I'll see what they are going to charge for extra room shouldn't be much be we shall see.

Got all my cds and dvds from old house on Music Magpie only £22 but nice bonus and box will be going Friday. Also listed six things on Gumtree no viewings but it's so much easier than EBay. If they don't sell I'll try eBay or Facebook although not sure how to go about Facebook took six months to get added to my old address one.

Nice chilled weekend no golf or gym but relaxing apart from tidy up and not that speedy only had McD today which was £10 scary how that's gone up. No drinking since Weds/Thurs so happy with that.

Next weekend is our second anniversary so gym Friday then dinner and cocktails at our favourite bar and pictures Sunday on the actual day to see 50 Shades Darker we saw 50 Shades two years ago. Still very happy together and very content even if sharing is getting us both a bit down.

My ISA has been moved and changed into a new fund and my new extra pension is set up. I've got log ins for everything so that's cool. Tesco current account bring set up see they have suspended that now wonder if I'll get a second one or if I've missed the boat.

Payday Weds and eye appointment Tues will be so interesting to see what they say re laser surgery so annoying wearing glasses I do hope they can do it and soon.

Early night I think work tomorrow but off Friday look forward to having it that was around than Monday off.

Glad I've only got one more days work left really getting a bit too much wish things would settle down more.

Training course today which was good but hassle with one of our contracts hey how sort tomorrow. Met friend from old work tonight nice chat and then spent an hour getting home traffic and late trains hate that commute sometimes.

First direct savings account matured £117 interest new one opened 5% at £300 a month all ready now. Final isa payment for 16/17 done by IFA but hasn't left my account yet sadly.

Appointment at Moorfield went really well I'm going in for laser surgery 28/2 it's a Tues taking Weds off and then I have to go in Thurs and then Friday off for the golfing weekend. Not ideal but hopefully I will be ok just got to do the drops want to get it done before holiday otherwise it has to wait until afterwards and I want it done now. Cost £6000 but worth it to me very happy with surgeon and Moorfield.

Friday can't wait to chill sold my boots on gumtree but nothing else has sold so might stick things on EBay Friday.

That's about it nothing else happening here two year anniversary Sunday so going to 50 shades Darker as our first date was 50 Shades. Saturday cocktails at our favourite place.

Yeah it's Friday and I'm off really going to enjoy that long weekend ahead. Music magpie parcel being picked up at some point and need to get a signed for letter from post office think it might be from IFA so should be interesting reading it's the suitability report.

Not a lot else planned for during the day some emails etc but gym at 6 second but last session with PT then next Saturday is new gym. Got what app from previous manager and once very good friend wanting to meet next Friday. Now I'm meeting other friend in the morning and then my DG morther is coming down for the weekend. In the end couldn't find a suitable time and I'm kind of glad don't need her in my life right now and she's quite a heavy drinker. She's very jealous of us as she's still stuck in her old life and I suspect in a crap job too.

All payments to savings accounts gone in so that's £1000 saved very happy with that. First direct has matured and new one set up at 5% old one paid £117 at 6%. RateSetter matched at 3.5% and the rest is M&S at 5% and Santander at 3%. Still not had my debit card from Tesco so cannot top account up unless I call them but maybe today is the day. The £3717 from First Direct is going there. Also need to buy the Premium Bonds ready for the April draw. At the moment £150k is earning 0.05% how crap is that.

I've slipped into a habit of buying coffee and snacks at work that must stop I think it will help the inheritance money is in savings account and what's in my current account is to live on.

Right must get label on box courier could be here between 8am to 8pm so don't want to get caught out.

    Hi TG

Glad you enjoyed your anniversary and I think you should push the boat out to celebrate. You've been through a difficult few years together - the ex might have been ex, but he was still around so still occupying mental space and difficult times at the end.

I'm glad it worked out well financially for you. That amount is a good cushion - early retirement one day!

Thanks Bugslet much appreciated yes he was an ex but did take up space and sometimes still do.

I'm very much aiming for early retirement or at least a cut in hours when we move back down South. Life is just too short one of my members of staff have just been diagnosed with lymphoma same as my neighbours husband. So sad this one isn't as young but makes you think though.

My manager thought I was early forties so quite surprised when it said 46 he thought 42 I'm quite happy with that.

DG just caught me writing on this might have to give it up I don't think it's a good idea if she reads it but I do like having a diary.
