Note the spelling of 'converse'. It's not 'convorse'.

I am not sure what the point of this thread is? If the school is making a new uniform compulsory, the only way you can argue the point is by changing your son's school. Which would definitely mean a totally new uniform, possibly with expensive blazers, ties etc.
If your son isn't too thrilled, (I doubt he is bothered to be honest but he may be picking up your feelings), then just take the view that change is something that young people are a bit reluctant to experience but tend to get used to new things very quickly.
As to the expense, just buy a couple of tops if you have to and build up over time.0
