Ignore him ;) I'm sure for three days you will find enough to do and see. Check out the famous Belgium beers, you won't need many:D Have a day in Bruges if you get chance, it's a lovely city.

    Enjoy

3 days in Rome, Venice, Athens, Paris, Krakow, Prague, Budapest, Florence, Madrid, Zurich, Vienna, Istanbul....

Would you genuinely go to Brussels over any of those? No, of course you wouldn't Brussels is a sterile city with nothing to do. No culture, nothing going for it, and the most boring city in Europe forming part of the most pointless country on earth.

You don't have to agree with me, but you should accept that it is a fact.

I know where you are coming from;) but the OP asked specifically about Brussels, maybe he has been to the other places you mention or is visiting friends or family there or has another reason to visit. If he had asked for opinions of where to go in Europe for a few days well that would have been a different answer. Similarly one could say why not go to NY, Niagara Falls, Dubai, Hong Kong or Vegas for a long weekend it is a lot better than Brussels. I know where I would go but the OP didn't ask that. ;)

By the sounds of it the OP has got a good deal on a short break away, good luck to him.
  • Yeah fair enough mate.

I am not on a sightseeing or culture tour. Purely personal hence why I asked specifically about Brussels. It has however opened up opportunities to visit other European countries very cheap for future trips.

I would ask while I am here about euros. I will need a few to buy food etc from supermarkets. Where is the best place to buy them, in the UK or over there ?

Replied to a similar request about US$. If you have a credit card that gives commission free transactions I would recommend getting Euros once over in Brussels and using the card for other purchases. The MSE web site has a holiday money checker in the travel section. If you have a Debenhams card they usually offer a higher rate compared to their normal rates.

Not heard that Tesco card has zero commission, you would have to check T&C's. Have you checked out the thread about purchasing $. Someone has come up with a suggestion that may be suitable.
