I'd suggest creating a Linux boot USB and use the "dd" or "dcfldd" command.
That's basically all DBAN is using it's just they stuck a menu system on it.
**!!WARNING!!**
The "dd" and "dcfldd" commands are VERY dangerous, you need to be careful and NOT have any drive attached that has data you want to keep.Laters

^^ This.
That would get your time per drive down to around 5 hours for a 500GB
( I still prefer the thermite option)

Or, use ccleaner's drive wipe facility, and choose how many times you want to overwrite the data. It's one a lot of people tend to forget about......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Our local computer recycling firm just doesn't bother wiping the disk drives it receives - they get sent to a waste-processing firm with an industrial shredding machine where the output is small shards of metal and plastic. This can be further processed to retrieve saleable Stuff.0

Still no way forwards - have checked a few companies who claim to offer free recyclimg - but most charge for collection - not worth spending £150 to dispose of 90 HDD's !!0

Or chuck them in here, it's a 23.5 Tesla magnetic field at the core.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0
