    May I ask why not?

They could be sat in a middle seat with people on both sides who want to chat and keep asking pointless questions.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

I think you really know the answer to your own question.

The OP has expressed a preference to be sat with her fellow passenger and has asked for constructive advice how this can be achieved - I don't think it is relevant to ask why.

Why answer a very reasonable question with a question?

    Not very helpful at all.

Regarding the 'strop' comment, that referred to if you board your flight and find out that you are on opposite sides of the plane, one at the front and one at the back.
I didn't say you were throwing a strop right now.
    .

And that is why the OP was asking for advice on how to avoid such a situation.

More than likely, but it's nice to check first.
The OP has expressed a preference to be sat with her fellow passenger and has asked for constructive advice how this can be achieved . . . .
OP has asked how to be sat together without paying. Fair question on a money saving forum, especially if there is a valid reason for it. If there's not a valid reason then perhaps not so fair a question IMO.

That's your opinion and it's up to you. I think differently. No big deal.
