Hit and Run advice!
Hi I was driving down a main road when a vehicle pulls out from the side road and we collided my front end hitting the side of the third parties vehicle (T bone impact, the driver initially stopped but then drove off as soon as he thought the coast was clear.
I had enough time to take pictures of the car damage, registration and driver I also have dashcam footage showing how the accident occurred which shows me driving along the main road, third Party pulls out me braking sliding/skidding into the side of his vehicle as he crosses into the path of my vehicle (road conditions wet/greasy) visibility clear but raining.
The police attended at the time and all details/evidence given but as no serious injuries occurred they won't exactly rush it as the quicker the better so they can't repair the car. The third party vehicle is a new 16 plate and is a hire car from Hertz what would happen even though I have all the evidence and the driver failed to provide details and leave the scene of an accident how is the third party gonna play this anyone with experience with this situation as I feel I have enough evidence even if the hit and run driver decided to repair the vehicle and dispute any accident taking place will my case be strong enough with the evidence for the third party insurers to do something?

Just claim on your insurance and they will do the rest, thats what they are there for.
If your insurers manage reclaim all their costs and you get your excess back then it will go down as non fault, until then it will be "at fault".0 -

In an ideal world maybe. Chances are they will settle 50/50 or even worse just make repairs and not bother chasing the third party and you'll lose out.
Instead try the hire company insurance first and make your claim through them. Tell them you have the evidence and it is their car. They will probably be keen to deal with you to keep their costs down but if not you can always go through your own insurer.0 -
If the vehicle was a hire vehicle from Hertz, ring them, they will fall over themselves to arrange repairs and a courtesy car once they are aware of your evidence0

I'm only third party fire and theft so my insurance will be no good to claim from, currently have been put in touch their non fault company who requested the evidence first then where happy to take the case on as the evidence shows what happened , clear images of the car/damage/registration and have checked the car which is insured to Hertz who said are trying to get hold of the hire but so far have failed to do so, they can't do much yet as they need to speak to the hirer and see what they say, but I'm thinking the hirer is bluffing the calls as he may be buying time to repair vehicle but as its a 2016 vehicle with significant side damage if the insurance need to will they get the chance to inspect the vehicle should it come back repaired as I think they must be able to tell via paint work or parts change that it was repaired which will show the same area I have evidence for on impact??0

You've got the registration. You can get the insurance details via MID, but you know the registered keeper anyway. Just claim directly from them.0

That's what the insurance handlers are doing they have contacted the insurer/registered owner which is Hertz hire car but as I don't have details of the driver I'm just wondering how will they deal with it, can they refuse to deal with it as I don't have the driver details even though he drove after after the accident or will my evidence be enough should it go all the way I have Dashcam showing exactly how it happened, photos of the vehicle before he drove off showing damages and registration, just some advice from someone with the know how of how this will pan out and what the third party will do with the above case/scenario0

No they won't! Op had video and photo.... Insurers don't like spending money so of course they will pursue their insurer for their money!0 -

Hertz will know who was the hirer at the time, they will have all their information including open creidt card authorization, and will let their insurers know.
Just keep chasing them, if you hear nothing positive in a few days let them know you will go to a no win, no fee, no injury but we will push you for a payout anyway company, they will soon be cutting you a cheque for the value of your car. If its driveable you could always keep the car and continue to drive it while you replace it.0 -
The car is not roadworthy since the accident, I will update as soon as possible hopefully third party insurers won't play deaf and dumb0
