Help to Buy - DIVORCE!! HELP

My partner and I bought a brand new house 14 months ago. We took advantage of the Help to Buy scheme, and naturally have the mortgage and HTB agreement in both names.
Unfortunately, we have now decided to get divorced. I wish to keep the house, and my partner has agreed to this. I contacted Santander who said they would be happy for me to take the mortgage on myself, but I would need to contact Help To Buy to arrange to have the agreement put in my name only.
My solicitor gave me a transfer form by HOP (who were administering HTB), I completed all the paperwork and contacted them to pay the transfer fee. I was then advised by HOP that they were no longer administering HTB and it had been transferred to Target HCA.
After finally getting hold of Target HCA they advised they only took over the administration 1 month ago and do not have a procedure for divorcing couples, and for 1 person to take over the agreement.
They are telling me I need to either find the funds to pay back the HTB or I need to sell the house!!!
I have spoken to 2 solicitors, a national house builder, and a mortgage advisor and they are all as astounded as I am.
They have all been involved in transfers previously for divorcing couples.
Please HELP, I do not want to sell my house just because of an inefficient company.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well you don't need to sell right away.
Just pay off your spouse and sign an indemnity agreement for now0 -
I personally would go higher within the organisation and ask them why they dont have this facility and name the companies that do. This is not a one off situation, it will keep rearing its ugly head and you should not suffer because Target are not on top of their game. For some people enough will never be reached.0

"Please note: If you started to settle all or part of your loan (redeeming or staircasing) before Target started administering your account, and the HOP had already sent you your Customer Information pack, you should continue to direct queries and correspondence in connection with this to them. The HOP team can be contacted at Hop.Team@metropolitan.org.uk."
Should HOP be dealing?
Failing that, if Target are "taking over administration" then they should be able to deal?
Complain in writing? Contact your MP?0 -
HOP should be dealing with it as above. We had the same letter through last month.0
