    Hi :hello:

What a nightmare for you - big hugs.

If things are getting too much to pay, it might be worth giving a free charity a call - such as the CCCS (contact details at the top of the board). I don't know if you've already done a Statement of Affairs, but if not it'd be helpful to complete one to see if there are any areas you could possibly cut back on to show your mortgage company you want to pay it back - have they threatened any legal action yet?

  • Hi

I'm no expert and more of a lurker but I've calculated your monthly income as £2332.50 which should leave you with £161.50 after paying all your outgoings.

I got your income figure by multiplying 'My Income' by 13 (= 52 wks in a yr) and dividing by 12 (months)

'OH Income', 'Child Tax' and 'Child Benefit' I multiplied by 52 and divided by 12.

If I've interpreted your income and worked this out correctly (a strong possiblity I haven't!), this means you're not in a minus each month and extra money is going elsewhere.

It may be worth starting a spending diary. You haven't included figures for Xmas, car servicing, car tax, clothing, birthdays, etc in your SOA. Maybe this is where your extra income is going?

    Hi there
Have you only just started with CCCS? Because I am assuming that the figures you have quoted for the cc and loan payment are before they were negotiated down by CCCS? Will this free up money to throw at your mortgage arrears when this does happen? If so then you could tell the mortgage company that.

Your wages are very low, have a look at www.entitiledto.co.uk to see if you are getting all of the benefits you are entitled to. Also can you both get a better paying job, or second job (lots of temp xmas work around at the mo so ideal time).

Other than that, you can apply to have your council tax paid over 12 months not 10 which would bring down the monthly bill a bit. Also are you entitled to any rebate with having such a low household income?

    best of luck sorting this

I think you've put the . a little late for child benefit! £16.40, yes? Also your tax credit looks very low considering the income you both get - might be worth checking on this . It is a similar amount to what I was getting when our income was a lot higher.
