Id rather you developed a new online service , that
A) doesn't send me all round the gov.uk site, when I am looking for something specificMakes a simpler version for PAYE , ie once logged into your account you can click on the month outstanding , and it takes you to pay now and you just have to put in details and it automatically credits the right month , the right account , right now

I would be interested to know who designed this questionnaire and what pre-use testing has gone into producing it?
Also, when you say you are working with HMRC, who is 'you'?0 -
That survey was awful, poorly worded, poor grammar and pretty nonsensicle questions with poor context. If this really is from HMRC I despair for the future of our country with them controlling taxes when they can't even put across a basic survey properly.0

Didn't understand half of it, just guessed.

As Lord B says - calling it a "debt" or a "bill" or a "liability" - should not be a matter of the reader's feelings but of whether they clearly understand that it means money they have to pay up. And if changing the wording means that more people pay promptly, that's a good thing, isn't it?I need to think of something new here...0 -
1.
I think it's good , in theory , that they are consulting people BUT
2. I've never really had money problems but this questionnaire made me feel stressed trying to make sense of it.
It's terribly badly constructed , with confusing wording ,which isn't a good start !
3.would this not be better placed on the debt free board?
4. You need to get someone who's expert at constructing questionnaires, because , sadly, you are severely lacking in ability here.
When you asked the question would you prefer to do this online or by phone, what has that to do with feelings-why wouldn't you just offer both?
It's a pointless question.
Also , as everyone on here is obviously Internet savvy, it's a loaded question. That survey was awful, poorly worded, poor grammar and pretty nonsensicle questions with poor context. If this really is from HMRC I despair for the future of our country with them controlling taxes when they can't even put across a basic survey properly.
I agree with these 2 posts about the design of the survey.
I think it must rank as the worst example of a survey that I've ever been asked to complete.I do think it's on too many boards, but as it's done with MSE permission you can't really categorise it as spam.
I have completed the survey, and didn't have any issue understanding it, but I think it might have been better to have shown the words/phrases in context rather than in isolation.0 -
I think that's the point they are (clumsily) demonstrating. If a normally intelligent person like you is puzzled by what they are getting at - how is it going to look for someone who, say, doesn't have English as a first (or indeed second language) or has severe dyslexia but still runs their own business?
As Lord B says - calling it a "debt" or a "bill" or a "liability" - should not be a matter of the reader's feelings but of whether they clearly understand that it means money they have to pay up. And if changing the wording means that more people pay promptly, that's a good thing, isn't it?[/Q UOTE]
No , it's not a good thing if the title has virtually nothing to do with the subject matter . This survey is not going to assist them to change the wording.
Hmrc won the " golden bull" award from the plain English campaign in 2014.0 -
Very very suprised that MSE has allowed this.
'I am the official company representative of HMRC'........
I just don't believe it.0 -
I am completely baffled by the PVW aspect to this?0

Well, if you don't believe it, feel free to waste your time reporting the post, but I'm pretty certain that what it says is correct, I don't think there is any way for the formatting to be reproduced without MSE permission.0
