Hi, i feel for you, your hours are not tooo bad providing you are not commuting for hours each day BUT its the work that makes it hard.

your hours on your feet vs my hours sat on a PC with cakes and coffee, im sure your hours are much more demanding and emotionally draining, you almost sound like you work at Amazon or sports direct!. Its true, MANY people do it every day, some are able to crack on, some cant accept that will be their lot. I dont blame the latter.

Try and create something to aim for, look into starting your own business maybe, put some money aside for a year and go for it. Even if you make 15k a year, at least you did it and you didnt have to do something you hate.

Or get a better education and apply for jobs with prospects? Evening courses etc.

    Hope you find something dude.

0800 to1630 is equivalent to 0900 to 1730, normal office hours of
37.5 (possibly 40 if only half an hour lunch) per week. As the OP posted at 1700 (and said he walks to work) then he isn't commuting for hours, he has a less than 30 minute walk to and from work.

He may feel hard done by but there doesn't, at least on the surface, seem to be any reason for this.

My screen says that he posted at just past 6.00... if so, his journey to work eats up about three hours each day, so that would tend to wipe out everything else. However, the solution would be to look for a solution to the transport problem rather than whinge...

Mine says 5.01 - perhaps GMT rather than BST?

However, neither of us know how long he's been at home for before posting.

yeah if he finished at .4.30 and got back for roughly six then that is 3 hours of commuting a day. ive done more in the past but at least i could sit down for the rest of the day when i got to work :p

poor guy, ive gone horrible jobs in the past so i sympathize for him, its what made me get a decent education and start taking things seriously.

Apologies, if you have the traveling to do it could well wipe you out for the evenings but there's still the weekends you can do guitar practice.
  • So unfair.. I work 800-430 this week for minimum wage. On my feet all day. Have to walk and just got back I'm so aching I can't do anything like I used to do like work out and go for a run. Can't even carry on learning the guitar. Work sucked it out of me and all I get is minimum wage. Barely get any money for myself after the bills. What's worse is I'm on shifts next month. They suggest overtime but thats just taking the biscuit! Just work then watch tele for the rest of my life.. whats the point in workin if I aint got the energy to be fit and play in a band?
Tempted to just go back to bein on the doll tbh. How do people do it
Seriously??? You have plenty of time left in the day to do things, even if you do travel 3 hours a day!

You were expecting people to say "Yeah, fine, sponge off the taxpayers so that you have time for your hobbies and to learn guitar"? Like that was going to happen.
