Damage done to my parked car

Hello all
So, this morning I was going with my partner to a job interview. Upon returning home (around 9:45), I noticed someone had scraped the wing of my car (which I've just had put on new for rust)
There is green paint on the wing, so I know who is responsible. However she has told no one and not bothered to leave any details. I know the damage is only minor, but I don't see why I should pay twice to get the wing repaired.
What are my options?

1.Ask the person you believe to have caused the damage to pay for it and hope they're honest enough to do so.
2. Find out which company insures them and claim. However, if you've mistakenly assumed blame and/or that person denies causing the damage...
3. You'll just have to suck it up and pay for it yourself.
Without a witness there is no proof that "she" caused the damage. The circumstances might point to it but that's all.0 -
Report it to police within 24 hours. Ask them to take samples of the paint for forensic analysis. Oh and good luck.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Yeah, I know it's not definitive proof, I'm just rather annoyed. I have looked down the side of the car in question and there is indeed tonic blue paint down the side. However I have just decided to pay (rather unfairly) out of my own pocket to avoid all the hassle.
I suppose I can take away from this with a big smile on my face that her car is worse than mine. Let's just hope next time it's not a child she hits.
Thank you for your reply

I don't get why you wouldn't challenge this person. I assume you have pictures of both sets of damage? I'd approach her and say do you want to go through the insurance for the damage you caused or handle it privately and see what her reaction is. If she asks what are you talking about then show her the pictures.0
