  • I got up early and got quite a few things done today. I went to book the appointment and pay for my teeth cleaning next week.

I dropped off some stuff to the charity shop and also bought some nice things from the CS. I also bought some makeup and fruity shower gels on offer from S*perdrug and some things from H&B. I have some veg burgers (on offer) for an easy lunch today with some salad. I can't remember the last time I went out to high street shops instead of ordering online!:o:D

I am exhausted now, though. I have the GP tomorrow so I will have a very early night tonight. I spoke to the psychologist yesterday and she said to ask my GP to refer me to the local adult assessment team as she thought I might need to be referred to social services too with my fibro and my husband's illness and complications. I've never had anything to do with SS before...

She had agreed with all concerned to give it a year and I will never forgive myself for allowing that to happen .
Polly you did the best you could, given the information available to you at the time. It's all any of us can ever do.
Please don't do what I do, and beat yourself up for making what, with hindsight, wasn't a good decision.

I have just, finally, managed to source some reasonably inexpensive Gunpowder Green tea, The website I bought from before has it, but the site isn't working properly, and it won't put your chosen product in the basket. We drink gallons of tea (Mr LW is a Tea Monster) and I object strongly to Tw!nings prices.

This afternoon I want to get a module of my Canine Behaviour Training course done if I can, also do my paws (fore and hind) in the wax bath, as I shan't have another chance til at least next Tuesday (I won't use it with dogs on the premises, for doggie elf'n'safety reasons - hot wax and nosey dogs is not a good mix).

I have finally got next year's calendar done (I make my own) as we already have a booking that goes into next January. However, my ancient printer is about to turn up it's toes, so need to get a replacement before I can do the Yule cards.

Dins tonight will be HM tomato soup - I got some inexpensive toms from the F&V market yesterday.

Hoping all are having a pain-free day, with plenty of spoons in the drawer. And whoever has nicked mine - give 'em back!! :D

Hi all, The house troll slept through the night last night so I'm shattered - always the way when you have a good sleep after a run of broken nights. I'm thinking I may fit in a half hour nana nap before I have to go and fetch him.
  • I took a Lyrica tablet before I went out to the GP appointment today. Apart from the horrible migraine I had the other day I have been feeling a lot less pain being on that medication. It's meant to be the best one for Fibro.

I actually feel quite good today. I listened to music before I went out and put on makeup, painted my fingernails and a wore a maxi dress. When I walked out of my door the dustmen were looking at me and smiling and said hello to me. I started laughing when I walked past them as they were staring so much as I was thinking they were probably wondering if I was the same woman that normally lives there.:rotfl:I usually wear men's shorts and tops at home and have my hair up in a ponytail so probably look like a right tomboy (or a mess!) most of the time.

  • Afternoon folks...

My brain has definitely gone walkabout today!

I changed my bedlinen a day or two ago and when Mu said she was going to the laundry room this morning I decided to go with her and get the last lot of bedding washed....first thing, I need a washing liquid-pod...and found myself opening the fridge and staring for a good minute or two trying to remember what I wanted and THEN remembered washing pods are NOT kept in the fridge!....So, I get stuff together and go with Mum towards the laundry room, and find myself going towards the door that leads outside to the bins (thankfully I realised BEFORE I tried dumping the sheets into the bin!!!)...and finally I got everything into the machine and couldn't switch it on until Mum pointed out the machine works better if you shut the door first!!!!

At least that job is all done, and I have managed to relax this morning...and get my head functioning again.....although I have taken a meal for tonight out of the freezer...I keep a stock ready for days like this!

    Hi Princess

Know exactly how you feel about forgetting things and getting confused. After missing a bus and then waiting 15-20 min for next one, as I saw it approaching I went to get bus pass out and couldn't find it. Knew I had it as I left the building so started to make my way back in, only to get in revolving door to find it was in pocket of jeans!!! I never use my Jean pockets. Why now? Agh.

I've struggled with m.e. and fibromyalgia recently. Need to get in touch with docs to look at pain med. I'very booked myself in for a session at an Infrared Sauna a spa - the first in the UK which has opened in Liverpool. It's a half hour session and is supposed to help with pain relief so looking forward to that at the end of the month.

Other than that I'm still subscribed and reading every day. We are an amazing bunch who are strong and resilient and keep fighting the good fight - even if most of the time our insides feel pants.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

Wow loads to catch up on and I'm not even half way there yet!

Just an update - kids are back at school and I went back to work this week after being off for a long time - I'm just doing a couple of hours here and there but it feels good to be back. I'm worn out now tho after a week of school runs and working too plus 2 kids swimming lessons tonight so I'm sat with my feed up while DH makes tea (a prepped chilli from the freezer) think I need an easy weekend!

I spoke to the nurse about changing my diet and she said for me to try Gluten and Dairy free first as this can often make a huge difference, I have started on Monday (although I still have tea with milk in) and I've cut out all the rubbish so no sweetener or sugar in my tea (I got used to it quite quickly) and nothing too processed which is ok as I home cook anyway. We are going to try it for 3 months and see what difference it makes ... I have no idea how to be Gluten free so I'm trying to research as much as I can! Anyone else Gluten free? Has it made a difference?

Right off to catch up with the rest of the thread - everyone seems well so far which is good! I can feel the cold coming and it causes me so much trouble - going to get the hot water bottle out soon!

    Tink xx

This reminded me - I asked Mr LW the other day why it is that my mouth always tastes like a troll's three-week-old underpants first thing in the morning.....:rotfl:

Prinzess I've had days like that; one classic time was me carefully shoe-horning all the recycling into the fridge, instead of taking it out to put in the shed ready for bin day. :D

Tink I don't eat GF, but I have a slice on lemon in my cup of tea instead of milk, simply because I prefer it. Just an idea, should you have to cut out milk completely. :o

I love this thread because I know I can be 'me'...I can have a moan when I am in pain or haven't slept....and can vent at my frustration with the DWP...and can be honest about the fact that we had visitors today and I was thrilled to see them but wished they would go home a full hour before they did!......we are amazing, strong people...and this thread lets us be human too! (And it is so good to have people who have 'been there done that and bought the tee-shirt'!....there's always someone here who knows what we are going through)

Tink...I stopped taking sugar in my tea without a second thought...I was about 12, one day Mum made me a cuppa a breakfast and forgot the usual two-sugars...I took one sip and said no more sugar in my tea from now on please!

Just popping into say hello and offer virtual hugs to anyone that needs one.

I'm tootling along, nothing has changed and suspect I have reached the point where this is as good as it gets so I'm just getting on with it. Will be happier when I know what my pension figures are and I can decide if keeping this house is viable longterm or if it's time to tart it up and flog it (I hope not)!
