Please move if in wrong place

Ok so this week on wed I am going to look at this car http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609017319229?search-target=usedcars&make=volkswagen&model=polo&aggregatedTrim=GTI&year-from=2010&transmission=automatic&quantity-of-doors=3&sort=priceasc&searchcontext=default&postcode=ip42hn&radius=1500&page=1&body-type=hatchback&onesearchad=new%2Cnearlynew%2Cused&logcode=p&adPos=1

Message dealership on auto trader (45 mins from me) about looking at car & test driving it they happy with that...

Only problem is car has no Mot/Tax

On auto trader add they said they will mot car for free once you have put deposit down/willing to buy it...

but how can I test drive if it has no mot??

I checked in DVLA website for mot etc

Don't worry about it. It's on trade plates and the dealers insurance, looks good.

Too add- it doesn't say it isn't mot'd just that you get 12 months with purchase.

In the unlikely event that you are nicked for no MOT on your test drive, the likely outcome is a £100 fixed penalty. There are no points for the offence.

I'd expect the dealer to knock the £100 off the price.

NB I am not in any way suggesting that you should knowingly commit a criminal offence.

Make sure you ask about the service history of the car, lots of owners of the VAG 1.4 tsi twin charger engined cars have had issues with high engine oil consumption, some have had 2/3 engine replacements under warranty. Google 1.4TSI oil problems. Looks nice though.

Worried Jim has already said that you can drive a car legally on trade plates if it has no MOT so there isn't a problem!.
