Canceling a Three sim only contract

Options
I started the contract about 4 hours ago and when I got home and set it up I realised that my signal is absolutely dreadful! Call reception frequently drops to emergency calls only and internet only works if I go out my front door and wait about 1 min for a simple google search!

For comparison GiffGaff was flawless! Sometimes I thought the internet was faster than my wifi!

Is there anyway to cancel the contract since it was only taken out today? I would even be happy to pay the first months fees.

Thanks for any help!

  • I should also note that it was done in-store
  • Not unless their t&c say you can. That's very unlikely.

If you signed up for a 12 month contract you can give your notice in 11 months, if you signed up to a 30 day contract you can give notice immediately.

The usual advice is to always check coverage with a free PAYG sim before signing up to a long contract...

You could try going back to the shop and seeing the manager and explain the coverage issues and asking for some form of goodwill cancellation, some networks allow their managers some latitude but you have no right to demand it.

Three might even suggest you download their "In Touch" app to use over Wi-Fi at home to make/receive calls and send/receive texts.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Yes, but then you will soon realise that it's a rubbish app! :(
