Should I upgrade from S5 to S7?

Hi all, my 24 month contract ends this month for my S5.

Seems to still work just fine despite the abuse it gets.

I'm on unlimited data with three, so hammer their 4G usually over 30GB a month, don't bother connecting to my wifi as it's quicker etc. Quite a nice luxury to have, cheap too. Amazing it's even free unlimited abroad too - can't fault three TBH.

But.. I'm now thinking it's going to be cheaper to just get a Sim only deal and abuse that for a few months. It's £23 per month for a 1 month rolling Sim deal.

I see the Samsung S8 is due early 2017 so IMO might be best to hold on for that?

Though I'm worried it will only have a curved screen... and well, the S7 edge doesn't really do it for me. Looks weird!

Anyone done the jump, worth it or wait?

Cheers all

Consider alternative manufacturers? There's usually a flagship model coming out from one of them every couple of months. If not wait anyway and the price should drop.
  • If you wait for the latest model still to come there'll always be something better due soon?

I was in the same boat (though without quite the high data need) with an S5 I was quite content with. I went sim only (at £7.99 pm 2gb, 1000 minutes and unlimited texts) & I will stick with that until the phone dies.
