G24 parking ticket

Can anyone help please? We have received a demand for £110 for non payment of a parking ticket ar Meadowhall Retail Park, Sheffield. This arrived 4 months after the alleged parking and no previous correspondence had been received before this. I gave appealed to G24 who gave me an automated response and no POPLA number so I cannot proceed with my appeal. The IAS, have said I need to pay £15 to appeal with them!! Other than contacting the landowner I am now at a loss what to do. This is so unfair as I have asked for copies of letters sent out and received none. Wha do I do next? Thanks.

There appears to be a large sign on entering the car park that there is a 3 hour limit

Did you overstay and if so by how much. If you spent money there, do you have receipts to show the Managing Agents (who work for the landowner and have hired G24)?

I'm surprised to see G24 linked with Meadowhall. It's lately been the domain of CP Plus. There was a recent thread which drifted off on to Meadowhall and the local information from a poster was that there was no time restrictions there, just stuff about disabled bay parking, parent and child, outside marked bay etc.

Unless G24 have been newly contracted, with new time limits, I wonder whether this is the main Meadowhall car park, or a satellite facility with a different landholder involved. Perhaps the OP can confirm?

    The IAS offer 2 appeals.
    STANDARD AND NON STANDARD

Standard is FREE and Non Standard is £15

Either way, you will lose so don't throw money away , it's stupid

    Nothing. This is only G24!

Search this forum board for G24 as a keyword and relax. Read about all the other people ignoring them and complaining in droves to retailers.

    NEVER NEVER NEVER
try the binding 'you lose now you have to pay' £15 IAS thing. And don't pay either.

Come back if G24 break the habit of a lifetime and try a small claim (unheard of - look at the big fat zeros under 'claims'):

  • Not sure if overstayed or not. I have asked for proof but G 24 haven't been forthcoming. The debt letter arrived 4 months after the alleged parking with no previous correspondence so I wasn't able to appeal within 28 days either. However they will not listen to this and say that because they posted it that is enough proof! Now been told if I don't pay the debt company will get the money of us and if not they will take court action. I have never been in trouble before and don't want to start now. Don't know what to do for the best. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks .

Unfortunately I have already contacted debt collectors out of sheer panic, however the guy at the other end was not helpful and really quite rude. All he was interested in was the money and said I couldn't appeal. He put the phone down on me when I asked for copies of letters, he said the letters would be produced at a court hearing!

How do you tell if someone is lying? Check if they've been to court?

    What a rude little child
  • Thanks guys, it's all a bit scary. Especially when they are sending demanding letters and your good reputation could be damaged through them.
