I have had an orange contract for many years, this is because mainly I am used to the number and it is on all my pets microchips, and all my contacts use it so I don't want to change this number. Now, it has been time for my upgrade, I had previously had a nokia lumia 530i....not too bad took a while to get used to, but then I couldn't get the back off easily andsmashed the screen, had to have a new one paid for by myself as carphone warehouse whom supplied the phone wanted only to a) sell me a different contract, or b) reluctantly agreed to fix the screen but taking 3 weeks and would lose all data. This was not true. I took it to an independent shop who did it in one day not losing a thing and a good fair price £35. However the screen sometimes started to freeze (had used it two years)so I accepted my new upgrade, a nokia lumia 550...
This new phone is hideous. Its a windows ten Microsoft windows phone. It wants to know all the ins and outs of a cats a-rse as they say ....wants to link to other things, you have to make an account to be able to activate things and the answerphone though I have followed instructions to set up and still doesn't work..(doesn't come already working) I don't want lots of apps that have come with it, use your data and some cannot be removed. It wont allow ad-blocker to work or install.
So the question is, can I put my new sim card into my old phone and will it work? or will I need to take it to the independent shop? To maybe adjust it so it will work. What if I got a brand new nokia 530i could the sim work in that? They are currently closed (the independent shop) for refurb so I can't go in and ask them...hope somebody can answer as I get a bit stressed with it.
Oh another question, I have used whats app on my old phone but every few weeks it says the version has run out and I need to re load another version. I couldn't the last time, because theres not enough room (though I added anew sd card and changed settings for all new downloads to go to that but no, it wont. the question is if I download it to my new phone (intime) will my 3 blocked numbers remain blocked or will they get a message 'hey I am using whats app' which I want to avoid at all costs...
Sorry if this is long and rambling questions, but I thought I had better give all the background info to help solve it..if indeed it can be solved..thank you in anticipation.
