I bought two items in the forever 21 sale online that didn't fit. Tried to return them to store and was told that I couldnt exchange or return them to store and the company would charge me shipping costs to return them to the warehouse.
Any suggestions on how I could at least exchange them?

Were they online exclusive items? If not, their returns policy says you can return to a store. It's their capitilisation by the way, not mine.
- Your items may be returned to any Forever 21 store located in the country the original purchase was made for an exchange or refund. The country where the original purchase was made is the country that appears in the billing address of the original invoice.
- Please note that sale items, swimwear, all jewellery and ONLINE EXCLUSIVE items cannot be returned to Forever 21 stores.

OP states they were sale items, so unfortunately they'll need to be mailed back to the warehouse.Sale merchandise purchases may be cancelled within 14 days of the order or returned, as described below, within 14 days of receipt, in accordance with applicable distance selling regulations. Please note that sale items cannot be exchanged or returned at Forever 21 stores.0

Okay a few issues. The website seems to be operating from a company based in the netherlands.
It very much looks like it would be the laws of the netherlands that apply. They'll have something similar to our CCRs but not sure if there are any differences.
If its the same as UK law, it all comes down to what the retailer has advised you by way of durable medium. Websites are not durable, links contained in an email are not durable but information given in an email itself is.
However, going by their website, the return is going to cost £2.50. Given the time it might take, personally I'd consider paying the £2.50 to get my refund and then just not give that brand any more of my money. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Thank you for all the responses-however I am annoyed at the way this company operates. Shipping to store was free so I do not understand why they are charging me to return it to the warehouse plus the fact at the point of sale it was not highlighted to me that these were final sale items0

How were you not aware that they were sale items, the reduced price is written next to the (crossed out) full price?0 -

Well shopping to the store obviously wasn't free, they just included the cost of shipping in the price of the items. So it's reasonable to expect to pay a small fee to send the items back.
Also as the poster above says it's obvious which items are on sale. No company is going to put items on sale and hide that they are!. The whole point of a sale is to get customers to buy the items due to the "savings" they will make.0 -
OP. I was surprised to learn that I was having a sale.
I am disappointed that you could not get an exchange, if you had contacted me I would have looked into it.0 -

Not everyone will realise you are a regular poster who uses the same name as the company in this thread..
You must really try to lighten up a little.
I did not seek to confuse anyone, it was merely intended as a joke, perhaps I should label it next time.
OP I apologise if I confused you, this was meant as a light hearted comment, regarding the name of the firm , hope you get your problem sorted.0 -
Since I'm not the OP, I was not confused!0
