What a woman says:
C’Mon...This place is a mess!
You and I need to clean.
Your pants are on the floor
And you'll have no clothes
If we don't do laundry now!
What a man hears:
C'MON.... blah, blah, blah
YOU AND I blah, blah, blah
blah, blah ON THE FLOOR
blah, blah, blah, NO CLOTHES
blah, blah, blah, blah, NOW!0 -

I would say write him a list but I forget the list more often than not!0 -
To be fair, sexting Margaret is probably more fun than buying your carrots.' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0

whatever happened to MSE meal-planning and buying for the week? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

That way he can't forget the list or its contents.
We have a spreadsheet set up, sorted by aisles, so I don't even have to go to the effort of writing down what I want and I'm prompted by the items already written on the list.
I just check the boxes and he picks up the spreadsheet as he walks in the supermarket.
WFT? You're joking right? The man is a saint and a fool :rotfl:One man's folly is another man's wife. Helen Roland (1876 - 1950)0 -

I asked OH once to nip to the shop and get food for a couple of days. This clearly was confusing to him....bless....and asked what he should get. My response was to just get what we usually eat.....chicken or fish.....veg or salad...you know things like tomatoes etc.
He came back with a chicken, a loaf, and some tomatoes..... :rotfl: nothing you could make a meal with.
We still live seperately half the week, it gives me a break from explaining things...
Once he has grasped things a bit more, there may be more hope, untill then, i am happy with it how it is.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
What have you learnt from this OP ?
If you want something specific from the shops either get it yourself or give him a list.0 -

He doesn't forget the essentials so he can sit in the toilet for half an hour reading his paper:mad: i do sometimes think he's in there texting Margaret. Why dont they listen? I now have to walk down the shop just for a pack of carrots

If you'd have put a spy app on his phone you would have known he hadn't been to the carrot shop and could have reminded him before he got home.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
