Morning :hello:
Sorry Lainey I didn't realise your mum was having an op x I hope she's still comfortable, and don't forget to look after yourself too xx
Fingers crossed for good news TravellingAbuela xx
Had a Visitation yesterday, she's so draining and I spent the rest of the day feeling tired, lol.
I've sorted the plants in the greenhouse, they were two varieties of tomato which I've never grown before and I obviously didn't look after them properly. I've always treated all tomatoes the same so I don't know why these think they're so special
I've picked a couple of cucumbers and a bowlful of Golden Sunrise, my favourite.
I've finally been given the last few receipts from last tax year so I can do the tax return now. At least he didn't wait til the last day like last year, I was panicking that I wouldn't be able to get on the website while he was perfectly relaxed about it
I did mine a couple of months ago, I never earn enough to pay tax so I keep hoping that they'll write and say not to bother with a return til your profit is X amount. But they never do.
It's a lot fresher here today so I'll get some work done then spend a bit of time in the garden. Crochet and telly this evening, I'm looking forward to that.

Morning (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially TA and Lainey and her mum.
Well yesterday was a watershed for me, I lost my temper good style with OH, amazing the transformation this morning!! I also discovered that the quilt group were doing things behind my back and one of the members had asked 'a friend' to join the group. I decided it was time for me to pull out and let them sink or swim. One of the ladies thought she could do the job better than me, so she can have a go now and see what sort of a mess she makes of it. My deputy has told me she will also withdraw, there might be a couple of others too. I am sad, there were a couple of ladies who could have gone a long way on the quilting journey, whether they will keep in touch is another thing. Fot now I am going to have a break.
We are going to the coffee morning round the corner at the little chapel this morning, I also need to go to the P.O. and pay in a cheque and also get OH's TV choice.
The computer techie came last night, he has sorted this computer but OH's is not working some of the letters have stopped working so I have reluctantly decided to get a new one which has put my financial plans back a bit. I had plans for the cash from the sewing machine I sold, they are now on the back burner.
The electrician who was supposed to be coming this morning phoned last night, he wants to go and see his daughter off, where to I have no idea, but he will not be here until lunchtime. He had better finish the job and to my liking as well. We both had a strip down wash last night, water in the basin, shower gell on the sponge and then stand in the shower bit, scrub all over and then use the sponge to get the water from the basin and squeeze it to clear off the soap. At least we know the drain works ok!! I was forced to wash my hair yesterday evening, last time in a bowl in future it will be done when I have a shower.
Its a fine morning, I wish we could get a bit more rain, the groud is still so badly cracked, we need about a month of steady rain, preferably ay night!! Not sure we will get it though. The down pour we had last Saturday has done nothing to the ground at all. We did find out that altering the guttering on the shed has stopped the water coming into the coal shed, and the barrel on the down pipe is almost full, which is very good.0 -
TA, fingers crossed for good results, have a good night out with your friends.
Lainey, I'm glad your mum is more comfortable, take care of yourself.
Coxy, how did the iv go? Have you applied for the school job.
My life is very boring at the moment but I always think of the Chinese curse - May you live in interesting times and think that I won't complain.
I sorted out my sewing room (aka the dining room) yesterday, I'm very messy when I'm making a project and I've had several on the go recently. I want to tackle the utility room next because it's become a bit of a dumping ground. I want to leave the house clean and tidy before we go away, I hate coming back to a mess.0 -
Good Morning chums
Lainey good to hear that your Mum is in good spirits xx
dumpling you sound really positive and upbeat well done
T/A hope the tests go OK
Coxy11 hows the job hunting going My eldest DD works as a business manager for a special-needs school and really enjoys it,but she often works during the holidays as its nice and quiet and she can get lots done without interruptions from teachers, pupils ,Mums and Dads
First week back with all the children this week so she is really pleased she got a lot of her paperwork out of the way last week when it was quieter.
Well I had a great night last night as it was quiz night and we came first for a change and won two bottles of wine which go in the cupboard with the other ones until we have enough for a share out for us all.We beat the normal team which seem to win every week and the whole pub cheered
:):)Made a nice change, and it was a great night
DGS are all back to school now and peace reigns once more in my life
.The weather is quite warm and we seem to be due for some more sun which is nice as it helps make the winter shorter.
I had an email from Virgin to say my package was going up yet again (twice this year already ,) so I phoned to say enough was enough and not only got a reduction on what I pay but got it fixed for 12 months One happy old lady
:):) and a lovely lass on the phone was really nice and agreed that the third rise in less than 4 months was too much .
I am just awaiting now the return of my holiday deposit from our holiday house and that will be the third good news this week
they say things come in three don't they.
Hope the rest of you have a good day and << hugs >> to those in need of one
Cheers chums

Well done JackieO You have reminded me to get around to phoning about my phone and broadband deal as I think I am paying too much.
TA
Fingers and everything crossed that the scans are not as worrying and serious as it appears.
Lainey
Enjoy the time you have and I am so glad your mum is in a quiet room and visiting is easier.
Having a very lazy morning but will be dashing around later hanging out washing , loading dishwasher, sorting out dry laundry and airing cupboard and cooking a large shepherds pie for sil and dd who are popping round tonight. Christening gifts to wrap, steam cleaner to try out for the first time and a last minute tidy round before they arrive.
I have cleared some drawers in the freezer ready for a delivery of meat tomorrow and will keep some in the fridge to use for the weekend.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Good Morning OSer's,
Haven't posted for a long while but I have been lurking, I promise I have been here in spirit!
DD went back to school today, last year of primary school
She was quite happy to get back to it, think she had started to get bored.
I'm at the office this morning but working from home this afternoon so I can do school run and get the dog out for a good wander. Hopefully it'll stay dry so I can get the washing out and then go for a run early evening.
Planning a sausage casserole for tea, will serve with mashed potato and spring greens. There is plenty of cake if DD fancies a pudding.
Have good days all xxEmergency Savings #73 = £1,500/£2,000

Lainey hope Mum's having a good day today.
TA fingers crossed, and hoping the scans show only benign things.
The following may get a bit long; please feel free to skip to the next post.;)
Back to my dilemma with Gabapentin - it was lovely to hear from Docky across the ether, btw:o - anyways, the Doc has given me just enough for 15 days if I take the 30 ml per day as prescribed.
She did however say if I was worried I could start lower and work up to that amount, which I'd already decided to do. She hasn't put it on my repeat list, she wants to check it's ok for me first. No problem - except that the first available appointment with her is 7th October - a whole month away. So I need to effectively s-t-r-e-t-c-h 15 days' worth to cover a month.
So - being a complete wimp, I just took 5 ml yesterday; I'd rather make sure it stays down (after my experience with Tramadol some years back) before taking any larger dose. Realised I only have 450 ml to last a month - so I sat for about an hour this morning, working out a regime of gradual increase in dose to get me up to the 30 ml per day by 7th October. I just don't see what else I can do - I have to give the stuff a try, at least.
Oh, and just to make things even more interesting, it's in liquid form (I can't take capsules because of the gelatine content and they only do tablets at "stonking high" strengths) and it tastes VILE._pale__pale__pale_
Thank goodness for P0l0 mints!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Hello, popped back on as am having the afternoon off since I will work on my day off this week. I came in, had a sandwich, sat down and accidentally went to sleep.
LaineyT I have been thinking of you and your mum, I just hope that positive thoughts help. I know that can't do much to change what is happening but it may help to have others thinking loving thoughts.
TA, am sending you some positive thoughts too, waiting is awful, isn't it.
Deleted_User you do sound cross and good for you. If I lived closer and had some time to do anything other than chase my own tail, I'd be at your quilting class like a shot, it is something that I would enjoy. And I would behave, promise!
LW hope you get the dosage sorted out, I tend to react badly to some medications, I know it is not fun. I'm allergic to some antibiotics, vomit with others, the remaining ones give me thrush and can react oddly to some painkillers.
I will now go and see how the washing is doing, get OH to clamber out of the window and collect the towels from the line, and then avoid the ironing. I've made several tiny new baby jumpers and still have one to do the finishing on, so I'll do that.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
