This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning all
Hugs Lainey and anyone else in need.
Fish have been fed, my L&M and I both have a cuppa.
Yesterday was another manic day, still all I can do is keep on ploughing through the work it will calm down soon I'm sure.
I listed another 10 items on Ebay yesterday and some have got watchers so hopefully they will sell.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone
HH - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry and very humid. Load of washing ready to go on the line shortly.
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 now getting ready for work, DS2 still in his pit, but I will wake him shortly to get ready for college.
Dinner last night was full english, after the hairdresser had left, so a bit of a late meal, but eaten and enjoyed by us all. Dinner tonight may be pasta in a sauce with breaded chicken portions.
Work yesterday wasn't as busy, although at times it was manic, I'm working all day today as doing the extra hours this afternoon.
Keep safe and well x

Morning, just a quick post as I'm running late.
LaineyT, all good wishes for your mum, I hope she will be a lot more comfortable now and that you and she will have some good days together xxxI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone.
Grey and damp'ish outside. Still under the duvet for just a wee while more.
Today I'm taking another local woman down to the QE hospital in Glasgow and back. This time the appointment isn't until 2pm which is a PIA really but I've agreed. Can't see me being home much before 6pm.
I've got some calls to make before then and some online stuff. I'll take a book with me for the wait.
Thinking of those with poorly people to care for.
Happy Wednesday everyone.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's forecast to be a lovely sunny day today here. I have a friend coming for coffee this morning and then my lovely CMHT lady this afternoon to winkle me out of the house. I quite fancy a trip to the new Aldi store as I have to get some bacon and cheese for tea tonight.
Hubby has just left for work but he is in quite a lot of pain so I don't think he will manage the whole day in work. DD13 has just appeared for breakfast but there is no sign of the others yet. I will have some breakfast in a minute and then have a shower and get dressed.
I managed to crack on with my knitting last night so I only have a couple of bits to do before I have finished my first toy. If I get a chance today I will finish it off and then stuff and sew it up. I then have a couple of dragons to knit for the girls.
Hunters chicken for tea tonight with baked potatoes and corn on the cob. The pork thing I made yesterday was ok but I don't think I will bother making it again. At least it used up a load of leftovers which was good.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, special hugs to Lainey, take care xx0 -
Morning All
Very wet outside - that drizzle that gets you soaked - hoping it clears up later as forecast.
Met friends yesterday for something to eat and a good chat, did a little bit of sewing when I got in. The washing is nearly dry, it's so humid that the inside of the house feels damp.
Lainey - Hoping your Mum has had a good night.
Take care. XX0 -
Morning folks and thanks HESTER. Snippets of blue sky emerging here.
I had a rubbish night thanks to a late afternoon phone call from Mr TA's Consultant in Leeds. He'd had a phone call from the doctor in Liverpool about Mr TA's scans there last week. Good news and possibly bad. The good is that the tumours on the bowel and liver have not grown since the radionuclide therapy was started last November. But "something" was showing on a kidney. It could just be a kidney stone or it could be another tumour. Blood tests have been arranged for today at our surgery which might throw light on it. Of course I am fearing the worst as I always do. Meanwhile the Consultant hasn't got the scans themselves through yet and will see us when they arrive and have been discussed at their team meeting. We should be used to the worrying and waiting by now, as it's been the story of the last three years, but it doesn't get any easier.
Anyway life goes on and today's plans include a flying visit into town and the arduous task of taking the individual covers off the sofa backs and seats as they are a disgrace and desperately need washing. (Why did we think ivory was a good idea?!) It's an endless job but worth it as they look so much better for it when done.
I am on my old biddy's first Wednesday of the month carvery and wine meet up tonight. I don't feel too sociable but it will probably do me good to offload a bit. We also have the 3 DGDs here for tea and sleepover in readiness for the school run tomorrow. As usual for a Wednesday they will arrive in stages for tea after ballet, tap and Rainbows. For two hours I feel to be running a cafe!
Have a good day and (((HUGS))) where wanted/needed, especially LAINEY and anyone else with poorlies. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

LW - that's worrying about the new meds and their side effects - what a dilemma X
Another early night for me as DH went to his amdram last night. Had a good catch up with my BFF - we've been friends since the age of 4 so over 40 years. She's like a sister only better lol!
Church this morning and the weekly coffee morning will resume today. Have shelved my knitting group for the foreseeable as I haven't the headspace or time to do any. Did managed some cross stitch last night tho.
Hope you all have a good day

Morning everyone,
Dry and overcast here but still very humid.
Went back to the hospital at midday yesterday and stayed until late. Although Mum is on a standard ward they have given her a little side room so we are not so restricted on the set visiting hours. She was very tired after the op but in good spirits, she had seen her consultant and he was pleased that the procedure had been relatively straight forward with no complications. She also saw the Stoma nurse and had a visit from one of the palative care team.
Of course there was a steady stream of family visitors
I am heading over to her bungalow this morning to pick up a few bits and she wants me to sort the fridge out, then will go back over this afternoon. I just wish the weather would freshen up, the hospital is horribly hot and I don't think it helps with my tiredness.
Haven't managed to read through all posts but hope everyone is ok, did see that you are waiting on clarifications of some scan results TA will be thinking of you m'dear and hoping all is well.
Have a good day everyone, thanks again for all your lovely comments re darling Mum X
Take care folks x0
