I can upgrade from today !

Got an iPhone 5s at the mo but only 8gb (aargh) plus the screen is badly crazed. It was my first Apple and I'm hooked, even bought an iPad.

I'm planning on a 64gb but no idea whether to go for one of the iPhone 6's or the SE ?

Advice & opinions welcomed please. X

    I've been Money Tipped!
I recently purchased an android phone just to try something different from my Apple. WOW. Why didn't I do it years ago.

    That's my advice ;).

I too am about to do the same and just go for £100 android phone. I shall miss the link up between my ipad and iphone but if I don't leave Apple now I fear they'll have me for life and I'll be splashing out on a Mac and Apple tv next to complete the set. Then the watch....

Apple devices are mostly white so the sheep know which one to follow :)

So many stupid ideas it puzzles me why, sister getting bored of hers now after the last update stopped the phone auto answering whilst in the car. So to use her hands free she needs to answer the call manually? Good one apple.

  • If you go with a phone from your network, you will be stuck with a 2 year contract, which may suit you, but more importantly it will please the network who will be laughing all the way to the bank:rotfl:

Last May, when the iPhone SE came out, we traded in our 2 x 16 GB iPhone 5's (not 5S) at an Apple Store for 64 GB SE models. They were in mint condition and we got £100 trade in for each phone, they had been kept in cases, no scratches or "dings" and were not network locked. BTW, the service you get in an Apple Store is outstanding, they take you through backing up your existing phone and restoring it the new phone and have lots of time for you... Something not usually found in a phone shop! If you have a fault under warranty, the phone will be replaced while you wait, a friend had an iPad fail while on holiday in Spain, it was 18 months old and was bought from an Apple Store in the UK, it was replaced without issue at the Apple Store in Mucia...

We are very pleased with the 64 GB SE, we didn't want physically large phones and the SE is the same size as the old 5. They were quite a bit cheaper than the 6 series too. Buying from Apple themselves means you get an EU wide warranty (2 years everywhere in EU, except the UK...) and the phone won't lock to the network of the first SIM card inserted - CPW and Argos iPhones network lock!

We have always bought phones outright and gone SIM only as that gives the greatest flexibility to jump ship if you don't like the network or their coverage and may be better value too. A week is a long time in politics and 2 years is a long time to be in a phone contract.

Are you sure your iPhone is an 8 GB 5S? I thought the smallest was 16GB, there were 8GB 5C models.

Apple will be launching a new iPhone (7?) tomorrow, so keep an eye on the tech news.
