I've been watching Iplayer on my tv via a humax freestat box
BBC will no longer support my device come the end of the month
So what's the cheapest way of getting Iplayer now?
Many thanks

Now TV box around £10-£15.0

On your computer.0

I'd second the Now TV box - it has most of the main players as well, and is cheap as chips. You can usually buy them with some vouchers for the Now tv products as well - just remember to cancel. The box is about as big as my hand (and my hands aren't that big). The box works irrespective of whether you have Now TV subscription or not, and is simply plug in and away you go (HDMI cable + connect to internet)0

But the cheapest way is via a computer you already own.0

Some smart TVs have it built-in.
Sainsburys are currently selling NowTV boxes for £15.0 -

But the OP asked about the cheapest way and buying a new tv is not cheap. Also, the range of catchup services varies with brands and some are no longer supported after a number of years,as the OP found with her Humax box.0 -

???
Also, Smart TVs aren't the way to go, as the manufactures stop updating them, as they don't want you sticking with your old kit. They want you buying their new one!0 -
I guess I'm going to have to learn how to do the pc to tv thingy
My laptop is so old it's running xp but I guess that can still work as long as I have a good BB speed?
I don't want another box. We have the humax which does all the rewind, pause and series taping. I did have Netflix via the wiii ( just cancelled). It's just for iplayer really as I often find out about something I'd have liked to have seen way past its view time0 -

It might struggle with nice high definition streams. Save up for a new laptop. £300 new would improve on a Win XP machine. What you're looking for for the TV will just be an HDMI out - plug it into an HDMI in on your TV.
I'll guess your current laptop doesn't have HDMI, and it'll be VGA, which can be a pain on TVs.0
