The best candidate would not need to be prompted about something so important. If a person can't take responsibility for their own obligations they're not going to make for employee of the month!0 -

How would asking the question help them get the best candidate?
To me it seems quite the opposite - If you as an employer don't want to allow certain holidays you ask the question if you are not going to offer the job to anyone with long/christmas holidays booked. Or you don't ask the question and offer the job to the best candidate and let the candidate have the choice whether to cancel the holiday or turn down the job.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

They wouldn't "get rid" of anyone. They would however accept the employee's resignation, if they chose to resign rather than cancel their holiday, if the holiday was a problem. And they would think themselves lucky to get rid of this idiot early.0 -
