Are cordless vacuum cleaners worth the money?

I use Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners and it's a very good vacuum cleaner of this kind.0

I have just bought a Bosch cordless stick and It is really good. I have had several Mieles in the past 20 years or so and this cordless one is best yet. It is lightweight, good suction on carpet and on wood and best of all, no cord to trip over .
Looking back over previous comments from 3 years ago I think technology has vastly improved.0
