Better Exchange Rate?

Am I correct in thinking that I would be better using my Nationwide Credit Card more often to pay for expenses on holiday, rather than taking cash or a prepaid credit card, in the present climate?
Appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.

the Nationwide Select Credit Card does not charge commission on purchases abroad
however the Nationwide Credit Card charges commission
the Revolut pre-paid card does not charge commission
there will be slightly different exchange rates according to whatever you use0 -

The "present climate" is not relevant - the charges for foreign card use, expense of cash currency purchase and the solutions to avoid them remain the same. You can check your card fees and follow advice from here:

That depends on your view of the present climate...
If you take a prepaid card and load it with dollars, Euro or Dong before travelling then the exchange rate will be fixed at that point. If the pound strengthens then you will wish that you had waited; if the pound weakens then you will congratulate yourself on buying all the Dong you needed before the pound went down.
OTOH if you use a credit card then whatever you spend will be converted into sterling shortly after you spend it: so if the pound strengthens shortly before you travel, or when you are there but before you spend money, then you will benefit. So if you know that the 'present climate' means that the pound will go up, a credit card might help you.0
