Cancelling Voda and early fee

Options
My SIMO contract with Voda ends on 1 Oct 2016 and I want to change provider.
  • If I obtain a PAC now but use it on 5 Oct 2016, do I incur an early termination fee because of requesting the PAC too early?
  • If I obtain a PAC on 1 Oct 2016 and use it on 5 Oct 2016, do I incur a penalty for not giving 30 days notice?

Thank you

I think your notice will be an extra month if you dont use it before the 1st.

  • Hi guys can anyone else help with this as I don't understand the first answer.

I know that if I phone Voda they will bamboozle me

    Simple:
Whenever you provide notice for leaving, that's your 30 days to leave network and be billed for.
Same time requested PAC will be valid for 30 days too

If you move your number to different network (using PAC) before that- your allowances and charges will be wasted- profit to VodaF.

If you write cancellation today, get new sim in the last week before the end of the 30 day period and request number porting at least working 48 hrs before 06/10
  • Requesting a PAC negates the notice. Therefore requesting it would start another 30 days' cost unless I'm mistake. Request the PAC immediately and exercise it towards the end of the 30 days, which you'll be paying for in any case. Don't give notice to cancel as well.

Contract termination is cancellation (normally 30 days notice)

PAC is (number) Porting Authorization Code.

Few smart!!!!!s had recently been misinterpreting PAC for cancellation of contract termination (iD did), but once case would go to ombudsman (or threat of real court), in a final letter of complaint, network had changed its mind...;)
  • Thanks guys

I had read that just by asking for a PAC before day 365 resulted in a early termination fee. And that once you have a PAC they won't charge 30 days line rental if you use it straightaway. I guess that doesn't apply here.
