Many Happy Returns of yesterday to Frizzle.
Well, I have had an interesting and productive hour - totally unplanned!
Spotted a ladder up against the ash tree which is on our back boundary, in the lane, (and I have always wondered if the tree is mine or the Council's), went to investigate and found that tree fellers had been contracted by Council to lift the height of the ash tree to 4m . That included the branches overhanging our garden, so it has saved me £££ :money: I also cut back the large hazel bush in the back garden, went to make the men a cuppa, and came back to find that the branches I had left on the lawn had mysteriously disappeared... into their shredder. They wouldn't even accept any tip except jaffa cakes!
In allowing them access to the back garden to remove the branches I have also managed to un-jam the padlock on the back gate :T so now we can get in and out more easily if we want to go for a walk down the lane.
Made a couple of phonecalls earlier to the electrician and kitchen fitter, but I think they must both be on holiday.
ETA: Electrician has just rung back and is coming tomorrow to replace a broken light switch
Lunch next, then I must get down to studying my new book on Study Skills
Hope you're feeling a bit better, Dizzy x
Enjoy your boudoir, mrs-mp - it sounds lovely.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks off the ash tree to all in need x0 -
Happy belated birthday frizzle xxx
What luck ionafan ours all have TPOs on them - although my neighbour does a sneaky trim now and then behind theirs and my fence...
Wind is wild today so laundry is dry already and brought in. I've pottered lots and sorted DD wardrobe too. She really needs some drawers, there is a cube unit in her wardrobe but the baskets are too deep to be of much use. Actually, I may swap it for a shelf thingy we have in the conservatory - it will take much shallower tubs then of which I have 4 sat on my desk doing nothing
But first, I'm going to order a new sofa!!!Bossymoo

Have turned up and ironed the curtains. They are actually a stupidly long length so by folding them in half and sewing the hem just below the big metal holes that go on the curtain pole then sewing the sides up I've basically lined them as well turning them almost into blackout curtains. Which is good as we have a street lamp straight opposite, thankfully the council have recently started turning most of the ones on our estate off at midnight but it should cut the light before then as well.
I know this probably sounds really naff but I've seen an angel on Amazon that sits on the edge of a doorframe, so I'm going to get myself one of those once the room is finished.
I've hung them and they are now a nice length that sits just on the top of the radiator, I'm going to nip in the attic and get the canvases back down now then I'll make a start on tea.
Once Dh gets home we are emptiing the bed drawers his side and hopefully getting the bad out and the carpet up. (We are camping on the mattress for the next few nights lol)SPC~12 ot 124

Evening!
Just having a quiet one here, eating biccies, which I shouldn't be doing
DD wardrobe heaps better - I swapped the cube unit for what is essentially a shoe rack, but it holds all her undies, socks, tights, pjs now in little tubs where they can be seen. I need to sort her tights but will check tomorrow what still fits - also found a load of socks hidden  when I've bought new.
After tea I also sorted the conservatory with its "new" cube unit. It still has a rolled up rug that used to be in the LR but now doesn't go. So it can either go in the garage / den or I will put it on freegle. Not sure if I'll get a new one.
Identified some toys that might be leavingif DS permits, and I've ordered the new sofabed for the garage / den. Need to sort some new blinds for it too - current ones are at least a decade old and very grotty... Despite that, downstairs is looking rather nice now!
Anyone know what I can use to cover a scratch on a upvc French door? It's not a mark that can be washed off, sort of taken the white coating off, IYSWIM?Bossymoo

HB - Thanks for the info! The DAP stuff is what was suggested by the vet but she literally handed me a leaflet to read through and suggested the collar. Also something about thistle milk or something like that? I'll have a proper look at the websites you linked to tomorrow hopefully. He's been overly anxious again today so we have to do something soon as the flight response is going to get one of us badly injured at this rate.
Last night just as I was going to bed about 11.30, there was trouble next door with lots of shouting in what I think was romanian. It got so bad 4 police cars turned up with sirens and blue lights. Zack was whining, drooling, looking terrified and wouldn't leave my side. So I locked up and let him sleep upstairs with me on my bed. According to my sleep app, I didn't get to sleep until nearly 1.30 and was then woken at 6am by a cold wet nose in my face :rotfl:Hopefully tonight will be quieter.
I've just popped in quick to grab the list ready for the morning. Today has been a reasonably lazy day catching up on some TV while working my way through hundreds of emails as I've not logged into my email on the laptop since mid August. I've got a nice little collection of emails I want to unsubscribe from now (just moved them to a temporary folder while I continued sorting out the others) and over 800 emails deleted. I bet I'm back to up to about 100 unread in the morning. Also had a clingy Zack who wanted to help by shoving his nose under my hand and over the keys. :rotfl: In the end I had to cover him with a blanket and leave the comfort of the sofa to work at the desk to stop him deleting things. :rotfl:
Right, I'm off to bed. Up at 6am in theory. Lots of jobs to do, including the weekly shop and paid stuff. Night all :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
