Is this a decent quote

Hi,
I've had a trader recommended, by a friend, to install my replacement boiler.
I have been quoted
Radiators (1 big, 1 small) £120
Rads labour £150
Fittings accessories, incl thermostat £250
Changing boiler £550
He recommended a ideal logic plus 24kw for £840
I looked up this boiler on the net and it generally received very good reviews. I did find it cheaper but he said that was only for the boiler and would be more with the flue etc...
So, does this sound like a fair quote? (It's my first time buying a boiler!)
Thanks,

Looks pretty fair to me, i would personally go with somthing from Vaillant or Worcester Bosch though.0

Looks reasonable to me as well. Worcester Bosch and Veissman can have a 10 year warranty and have top ratings in Which.0

Thanks for the feedback. As much as I would rather get the brands you suggested, they are unfortunately out of my price range.0

If you look around the web, it appears as though Ideal are around the third best rated boiler now, so it looks like they have made good efforts to improve their image.
Just make sure you get a decent warantee (5+ years)0 -
Looks ok to me. Did he quote for power flushing as well? Clean system water is one of requirements of all combi installations these days.
Logic + has been a fairly decent boiler. Please remember that it comes with 7 years warranty provided that: installation is correct, system water clean (may need to be flushed) and you get the boiler serviced annually.
There is a known issue with some of early logics alu heat exchangers so keeping warranty valid is a good idea. Ask your plumber how much it is going to cost to have it serviced annually and factor that into your decisions.0 -
my sons boiler has just gone yesterday, I'm assuming it's heat exchanger, old Herman, too old to repair in my opinion, spent loads on it over the years.
I said I would pay for a new one.
I have a veissman, paid £2300, straight change and flush,it's very good, but out of warrantee now, only 5 years, and haven't serviced it yet this year,as they must be earning too much to turn up, for £85, for 15 minutes to do it, have to get another so , fed up chasing them.
The installers, local, and have gone from fitting veissmann to ideal, saying the new logic is good, so I was considering it for Son, but, might go for a Worcester, which I've had in the past, but nearly £400 dearer than Ideal, 30kw?
Given the choice, would a Worcester be the better option, even though dearer, they've had problems in the recent past?0
