Any cheap flights for August to LAX or Florida?

Hi,

Does anyone know is there is a secret to getting 4, CHEAPER THAN NORMAL, flights (2 adults, 2 children) to either LA or Orlando/Tampa? We are thinking of going next August (hubby has his fixed hols then). and would like to hire a villa. We will book tickets to Disney/Universal separately as we also want to do other things apart from theme parks.

Flights are looking like they will be £1K each, or thereabouts, which is a HUGE amount. Can I get them cheaper, bearing in mind we want to go early August 2017?:D

It's a bit early yet, only flights for the first week in August are available to book on most airlines, the ones that are available will be mega expensive. Give it a couple of weeks when all airlines are available and with a bit of flexibilty you should be able to get some decent prices.

I've just booked flights for Orlando for next May half term, another expensive time, I spent a few days using Skyscanner/Kayak/Google flights to get an idea of prices then went through airlines own sites, I managed to get flights for 3 of us for £1360.

If you decide on Florida rather than LA then have a look on THE DIBB. On the planning section they have a specific thread informing of any flight bargains that may crop up.

BA flights to Tampa are currently around £3300 for the 4 of you as opposed to £4500 to Orlando leaving 4/5 Aug for 2 weeks. Takes a good hour from Tampa to disney area but for a £1200 saving well worth it.
