    Morning all

Glorious morning here on the Kent coast. Off to a neighbours coffee morning, they have recently moved in and are hosting to get to know us all. Then lunch for next door neighbours special birthday at her sons. Better come home and have a bike ride to burn off expected calories.

    Strictly back on tonight too.

Lots of little jobs to do, some of which can wait until a rainy day.

Hugs to all those who need them. Have a good day

Morning! Thanks for the thread Gers xx

Currently bright and sunny here but rain due this afternoon. DD needs schools shoes and a pencil case. She has spent much of the holidays out with friends so we are last-minute Larry going shopping as school starts on Monday.

Need to clean bathrooms today plus do a few loads of washing. DS1 has the day from hell as he is working 10-5.30 at the cafe then 7pm-midnight at his new job. Only today and Saturday next week then he's just at the new job.

I had a challenging day at the church job yesterday - one thing after another going awry including my laptop. Several people just 'popped in' and took a seat whilst I was trying to work - lovely that they want to chat, but it doesn't help me get my jobs done in 10 hours a week :(

Will be applying for a school office job this weekend as it pays more than both my current part time roles, plus I would get school holidays off. Not so much a childcare issue (mine are 17, nearly 15 and 12) but more that I need to take time off in school holidays for the next 5 years anyway, so it makes sense. Plus hopefully I can leave the job at the school gate and not bring it home with me - that's the plan anyway.

Jackie - glad you and the boys enjoyed the footie. Have a good day at the fundraiser X
tru - how annoying for your DH :(
Hester - look after yourself xxx

    Enjoy the weekend folks X

carolbee thanks for the Strictly reminder! I was in the front row of the audience last year the night Peter Andre got voted off. Had to queue from 2.45am - in November - never again :)

Lainey - good luck with the loft sorting xx

  • i'm another Strictly fan too. I've been counting down the days! January last year we went to the First Direct Arena in Leeds for the SCD Tour. (DD had bought us tickets for Xmas) We had brilliant seats and even Mr TA (who is not a huge fan!) enjoyed it! Before the show we had a meal at a lovely Italian place, courtesy of DS. A day to remember!

My pre-launch favourite is Will Young but time will tell if he can dance as well as he sings!

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's dry here at the moment but we are forecast heavy rain for most of the day. I don't mind as I am not going anywhere but poor hubby is going to walk into town to pick up my meds in a little while.

He has just made me a lovely breakfast of dippy boiled eggs and soldiers, it's my favourite weekend brekkie. I love the weekends when I don't have to cook :D.

DD16 went out for a sleepover at her friends last night so goodness knows when she will be back and the other girls are fast asleep. I had a lie in till 7ish which was really nice as I haven't been sleeping well recently.

I am planning to get everyone to have a quick clean up this afternoon and then we can just relax for the rest of the weekend. The girls usually pick a room each and I get to clean the loos as they don't want to do that :rotfl:. We have a couple of DVDs we haven't watched before too so that will be something to look forward to this evening. Tomorrow, the girls can just relax before they start school on the Monday. I will miss them so much, the six weeks have just flown by.

Good luck with getting the school job Coxy, it sounds like it would be perfect for you x
carolbee, your day just sounds yummy and calorific, hope you have a lovely time x
    Happy Anniversary Floss x

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Very tired, so having a bit of a lie in, getting up and cooking stewed beef for supper. We are going to see my quilting friend this afternoon, so need everything prepped so I can just put it on when we get in.

Rain is forecast, it's sunny just now, not sure how long it's going to stay though.

Bathroom needs finishing touches, shower unit and extractor fan fixed and the wash hand basin connected up and, fingers crossed, on Monday night we will be able to have a shower.

No plans for the rest of the weekend, just slobbing about.
  • Morning all,
Beautiful blue sky. Had a panic attack at 5amm. Took a pill, and was still asleep when my carer came. Okay now.
Sorted my notice board which was full of out of date letters etc. Can see what I have now.

District nurse coming today to change my knee dressing. Healing well.
Also have a friend from work coming.
    Have a good day. xx

    Morning,

Raining hard here, whats new;),managed the dog walk before it started so luckily dont have giant mucky paws to clean.Ly1a is getting more & more nervous:( I could hardly get her past the front garden because the contractors cabins are there but noone is working, then on the park she kept stopping & listening so it took a long time but we didnt actually walk very far.The travellers are still there but DH said the police were there when they came home from work yesterday so I think they'll be moving early next week.It seems like it must be a hard existence being in conflict with authorities and being moved on constantly.

DGC expected in an hour, not seen DGS for 2 weeks as he's been on holiday & really missed his cheeky little face. The house is quite tidy atm but not for long ;) They are staying over,we are going out for a meal tonight but DS is taking them swimming so they'll prob get something to eat out.

Hilstep-(((hugs ))) glad your knee is improving.
Hugs to everyone else who needs/wants one,Nmlc sorry you are feeling a bit low.
    Happy Anniversay Floss
Good luck with the job application Coxy

    Morning all,

Nice day here atm but I think we are due rain this afternoon, I have washing on the line and another in the wm so will hang it out for a while.

House needs a quick flick round this morning but that wont take long with the three of us helping.

Yesterday afternoon My sister and I went to a local massive stove shop it sells every kind of wood burner and Aga you could ever want the choice there is amazing, I took loads of photos and discussed it with the man in the shop and my OH and we have decided on an Esse one, they sold it in the shop but I have found it online about £400 cheaper so will order it online once our chap has been to make sure it fits etc. I am very excited :j

Dinner tonight will be sausages and onions in those part bake bun things with some corn on the cob, the buns and corn have been in the freezer for ages and need to go.

Hope you all have good days xx

I am so glad it is finally healing well after all the trouble you had earlier. Take care of yourself.

I am having a very lazy morning and apart from checking the washing hanging outside, making an omelette for breakfast and burgers for tonight am browsing on here and rereading a favourite book.

One dd is abroad, another is popping in tomorrow, older dd and husband are away for the weekend and final dd is also away with a friend so I can be thoroughly lazy today.

Make sure you rest too and I hope you get the chance to do your crafting sessions.

    hugs to all
