This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning chums.

Up with the swallows today as I'm heading down to Glasgow, first to do a piece of work at the velodrome and then to see mum.

Yesterday's training session was fairly awful and my evening session at the footie club rather slow. More than half the people who needed their forms signed didn't come but the upside is that I got myself a Chinese takeaway on the way home.

Sky is a weak watery blue peeking out from grey clouds. No high hopes of sun.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Morning everyone

Gers - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need them x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Now light, light cloud with a watery blue sky, no sun as yet. Forecast isn't great for the weekend.

I'm up enjoying first peaceful cuppa on my own, menfolk still in their pits.

Dinner last night was chicken and bacon kievs, chips and beans/salad for the menfolk. I had a mushroom omelette and salad, ice cream for dessert. Tonight I'm not sure what we will be eating, maybe a takeaway.

I wasn't particularly productive yesterday - I did get to the SM just after it opened and it was reasonably quiet, so whizzed round and then went to Morries to get last few bits. I had my nail appointment so feel much better and then did a couple of quick jobs in town, then came home and had lunch and just chilled, watched some catch up tv. Had a few things whirring round my brain, felt a bit low, hoping once we get into next week and things become more "normal" my mind will be more occupied and I'll feel better. No cooking done - my get up and go seems to have got up and gone! It's DH's birthday today, and I have a mahoosive chocolate cake so do have sweet/dessert type food, so not a major issue, and I could make something if it's needed, I'm much more careful now about making too much food then some of it being thrown away.

Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Thanks for the thread gers.
The ten year old dgs is up his sister is still asleep. I got up at 6:30 and he'd got up and was watching tv. He's now on my computer and I'm on my tablet, so please forgive any typos.
I was in so much pain last night after such a hard day at work with so much heavy lifting, and the heating was on as the new radiators were being commissioned.
My L&M is working this morning even though it's someone else who should be on shift.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs Hester
Chin up, Titus out.
• Morning folks. The day started with blue sky and sun which is fast disappearing. It seems showers are forecast late morning.

After a week of train journeys for the various hospital appointments and then childminding since we got back from the IOW I am now ready for another holiday. It's been a very draining and tiring week. Today I had better get the duster and vac out but it will only be a lick and a promise. The holiday ironing (well most of it) still awaits and the pile will be even bigger when the wm clears what's accumulated since our return.

Have a good day and (((HUGS))) where needed. Take care all xx

Morning All

Washing in but I think it will have to dry inside today, it's dry at the moment but rain is forecast from about lunchtime.

Gers - Enjoy your trip to the big city, DD lives next to the velodrome.

I was in the big city last night, first time I've been near the shops there for months. Bought 2 pairs of shoes from Clarks, they have another few pairs I could have bought too but I'll have to save up my pennies.

Off for a swim this morning, not much else planned, I'll see how the day goes. Hope you are all well and ready to enjoy the weekend. Take care. XX
• Good morning all, thank you for starting us off Gers.

Sunny here but heavy rain is forecast for us too, so washing will have to be dried indoors. I'm
Just enjoying a bit of peace and quiet but will be working later. Not peace with a cup of tea, the milk went off overnight, and although there is some full cream milk (OH likes that) I can't drink tea with that stuff in it, I have skimmed milk. So am having hot ribena, which is really meant for persons with the sniffles.

OH will be off to the supermarket when he gets up.

That's about it, no plans other than work and at some point I will have to iron.

Hope everyone has a good day.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
• Good Morning chums ,bright and sunny this morning.Had a nice evening last night at Wembley watching the football with my DGS and son-in-law.Cost of travelling plus parking was a bit on the steep side but it is their end-of -term treat. In fact the ube fares from north Greenwich and the parking there cost more than the tickets to get into Wembley !!! how mad is that.We all had a good time though and the boys loved seeing the national Stadium. It was full of boys of all ages from Dads down to 6 year olds :)plus a few ladies as well.
This morning I am off to a fund-raising coffee and cake sale to support a friend of mine who is running it,so no doubt I will spend a shilling or two there.
No food shopping to buy though (just as well as I want to eat my freezer contents down a bit )
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are doing
Cheers chums

Morning :hello:

Tru, enjoy the peace and lack of interference. If he is going to a chili festival, do you have an outside loo for when he returns?

lol, no but we could do with one for all year round :D He grows loads of his own, we have fresh ones at the moment but the rest will be frozen, ground, flaked or cooked into sauces. I have to leave the room when he cuts up the super hot ones, my eyes water and my lips burn. He keeps some by to trick his mates into testing, I always warn them that he's lying when he says “honestly, they're not too hot, just have a little taste” but they ignore me then regret it :D

As soon as everyone left yesterday morning, I was going to jump in the shower, have a quick glance in each room to see what needed tidying, take Scampi out then make A Plan. But I didn't, I just made more coffee and sat around for a while in my pyjamas :D

The woman at the hospital couldn't understand why mr tru was sent there. She felt his foot and said he'd either broken one of the bones, or a little piece of bone had chipped off, causing the pain as it floats about a bit. So she referred him back to Gloucester for an x-ray! What a waste of everyone's time and money.

I've sorted my yarn into colours for projects and made a list of what I need to order. My labels are ready, I've sorted some packaging and my accounts have been rearranged. I've moved a few things around and completely taken over the hall cupboard, it's now basically an office in a cupboard, except for the bottom shelf which has been reserved for dog supplies :D My desk is still the kitchen table at the moment, I'll be searching for a proper desk next month.

Today I will be flitting about, doing exactly as I please :D

Morning everyone, thanks for the thread Gers.

Bright and sunny here at the moment but it's not meant to last, just seen the forecast and due to a change in wind direction it's meant to get warm again next week :)

Hope you feel a bit brighter today nmlc X

OH and I are heading over to Mum's this morning to meet up with DB and SIL to make a start on the loft. Goodness knows what's up there as when my parents moved in 17 years ago they just brought everything from the old loft and shoved it up there  should be interesting anyway.
Mum will come home with us to stay over for a couple of days so need to make her bed up this morning before we go otherwise it's just a bit of washing which is in at the moment.

Had a lovely couple of hours with Bill yesterday afternoon, another one of my friends is leaving the yard in anticipation of the potential sale, don't feel able to muster the energy to sort something at the moment :( know he is well looked after so will have to leave it at that for now.

Have a good day everyone, especially Tru enjoy the peace and quiet m'dear X
Take care folks x

Not sure what the weather is doing here today - curtains are still closed :o

It's our 6th wedding anniversary today but as we're gearing up for DS2's wedding next week we are celebrating next month when everything is back to normal. I am cooking tonight, probably cherry tomato risotto as we have around 75 of the little darlings in the veg drawer!

Will be continuing my tissue paper flower making today while DH carries on with truffles :)
