    I would have been happy to wear jeans to a registry office and dragged in a couple of witnesses from the street. My ex had delusions of grandeur and we had the lot - bells, candles, monkey suits, reception for 100..........

    I hired everything, beautiful dress, headress, veil and even white shoes. It was a wonderful wedding. All downhill from there. Anyway, afterwards I packed the whole shebang back into its box and sent it back from whence it came.

    If I'd had a crystal ball the DH would have gone with it.

    My first wedding dress i kept boxed for the whole 5 years we were married. I loved that dress but it had to go as it was a reminder of a marriage gone wrong.

    I kept the dress from my second marriage for 20 years but finally said goodbye to it when i found it hadnt stored well in the loft.

    As I was so tiny then (very long time ago), mine was actually a bridesmaid's dress which I loved. I lent it to a colleague who had very little (foster home, no parents to speak of etc), but unfortunately she never gave it back and we both moved on. I was widowed very young but I hope she had better luck, would have loved to keep that dress. Oh well.

    Mines in the attic. It would be nice if my DD wanted to use it one day, but she has assured me she will just grow old and have lots of cats :doh:

    Hi Mum :T:rotfl::T
    That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
