Broadband + Actual land line using

Hey folks,
It's come to my attention that I'm still paying broadband for my folks from a while back...

Essentially we had 'BE' ages ago, back when people used to get Broadband separate from line rental, BE morphed into Sky, so we now have the following:

Sky: £21 pcm
BT: Not sure - my Dad pays this.

I'm convinced I can get a better deal for broadband, however, I'm guessing it would mean jumping ship from BT?

My folks actually use their landline, a lot, including the whole friends and family stuff, the 1 hour free at weekends or whatever stuff - essentially they have a package they're happy with.

What would happen if you moved to a different provider - for line rental - sounds dumb, but I've never done this for people who actually use a landline!

Would it be less hassle to call sky and kick up a fuss and see if I get a discount?

Any thoughts much appreciated!

You can see what BB package BT offer .
Or see what BB and Phone package Sky offer .

If the BT line rental is out of contract you can move with 30 days notice .

BE didn't morph into Sky. Sky bought the customer base for broadband from both BE and O2 (I was a customer of the latter) and gave customers the choice of either going elsewhere or accepting a broadand only special offer or a free broadband and tv , when you pay for line and calls offer.

I took the latter, while transferring my BT line to Sky. The latter will beat any BT broadband/phone offers.

Yes you most certainly could get a better deal.

You shouldn't be paying any more than £10 for BB.
You should be able to get it free for the first year

Friends and family doesn't really exist like it used to. AFAIK
I wouldn't be concerned with the benefits of BT.

I would recommend going with EE (owned by BT)
For about £6.50/month extra you get free calls all the time.
Some free calls to mobiles. 1500mins/month
    Premium calls are charged for.

Other companies charge £8 for these free calls. (none to mobiles either)
