Vodafone repairs

Phone is in for repair and although under warranty, they want to charge me for it for something unrelated: the issue is a motherboard problem, I've seen the code on the screen telling me so as well as all the system failwhale issues (originally thought it was a firmware problem) before it reset over 40 times a day then refused to power up.

However, the camera is damaged (no idea how, it was working fine before the phone wouldn't power up anymore) and although unrelated, this makes it a chargeable repair. Anyone ever encountered anything like this with them (and their rude service centre emails)?
