Heat logs/briquettes

I'm thinking of buying a pallet of briquettes/heat logs for use in a wood burning stove.
Does anyone have advice please on the best value current offers?
Thanks very much.

Try the Verdo briquettes available at Home Bargains: you can buy a few packs at their shops to try them out. I use them mixed with scrounged and HT pallet wood, and find them good, although on their own not the flame you might get with wood.0

I've used the Verdo ones for the last 2 years. About the best value for money and I've tried loads.0

Verdo's are ok, but heat and burn for their size I don't think you can beat hotties. They last a long time and the give off good heat. I was recommended them here by Greenfires and he was spot on.Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

I've used Hotties in the past and liked them well enough.
I actually bought them via Andy (greenfires) but i think he's moved onto pastures new work wise.
The price for Hotties is starting to get a bit eye watering sadly.
Hotties are currently £120 a pallet more than Verdo (as an example) so I'm inclined to start looking elsewhere.
It was actually something i was going to ask about today (in regards to who uses what, so this thread was quite timely).0 -
TBH i tried hotties and didnt find them any better than the aldi or blazers which can be had cheaper, they didnt last longer or seem to burn hotter to me. Overall i used the same amount per pack for each and at £1-2 a pack less i saved nearly £30 last year not buying hotties which paid for my kindling.0

I usually use the Verdo ones when Home Bargains are selling them, usually a lot cheaper than anywhere else (last year they were £2.79 for a pack of six). I usually mix them with scrounged wood.
I've still got 25 packs left over from last year but we've got limited dry storage space so can't store more than 30-40 packs at a time.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Tried many types and by far the best so far was Verdo. I bought a large pallet of them in June for this Winter cots just under £300. First time I got a large order from Verdo directly but used Verdo a lot when I go to home bargains as there around £2.79 per pack of 60
