Let's ignore the last few years and Start over

Well here i am again, sheepishly rejoining the DFW crew. To be honest feeling wholly disappointed in myself as can't believe we have got into the mess again when we did so well last time.

Anyway long story short had a diary before was super focussed and cleared loads of debt, life happened, lost focus and although better than where we started from last time sadly not starting from where we should be..once I get over my disappointment at myself will post more details.

But I have done it, I have a new diary and so I have to do something.

Half way down the slippery slope is better than all the way, so it could be worse.
I look forward to reading your diary when you can bring yourself to write it.

Thanks for replies, still can't believe we are here again, but we are and need to not be..Still not ready to post SOA as want to spend time getting my head round things and a plan together as I work better with a plan :D.

but first things first have joined my first challenge on the DFW challenge board..the 1% challenge. I know from experience clearing bits little and often work best for me and keep me motivated, which is something I need until my head clicks in..

So for the next few days I will be reading diaries, borrowing ideas and generally getting my act together..

Morning Diary, so have decided that having an update on here daily ( or as often as I remember ) is the way to go.:rotfl:
So have listed 6 things on the bay, 3 watchers already only little things, but know from previous experience it all adds up.
sorted car insurance out saved £60 from renewal so thats good, went via Quid$$ so earn some CB. And after checking my balance have actually 1% in there to go towards first debt:T.
Not sure how I am going to save it atm as I can't pay it it bits and pieces as its on aa BNPL and needs to be paid by Dec before interest kicks in..so not actually paying anything at present, but if I get that cleared means monthly payments don't increase. Paying minimal on all the others at the moment, so picking on the smallest debt ( this one) and working through them.

Will need to have a think where to put all the pennies to save, don't want to save in my bank account as would get lost in there I think.

Hope everyone has a good day

so just a quick update managed an NSD today. We were out most of the day enjoying the last few dates of summer school breaks, took snacks with us and although we were later back did not stop for a take out, came home and cooked. Meant DD ate a bit late but hey it was healthy and cost nothing ..so win/win.
Off to bed shortly this new found focus is quite tiring..lol

So I have been doing some jiggery pokery and actually found that I have a savings account unused that I save my % in until accrued enough to pay off first debt ;).
Its quite motivating thinking already a difference has been made, still not convinced OH is on board, but will work on him..
Checked electric and gas accounts and in credit on both, and whilst thought about taking extra out, we are coming up to winter so will keep it with them to give us a head start..have joined the MSE energy club but did not have enough information to see if I am on the best plan, so will do that over the weekend.
Anyway hope everyone is well and enjoy the day.

And so here we are at the end of a weekend, but instead of worrying about how much money i have spent, i am infact feeling a little smug as I have had a NSD 2 days in a row and also have a couple of things sold on the bay of E. won't clear any bills fast this way..but will be clearing them i a percentage way. Once payments received it should intact mean I have cleared about 3% of my first debt..I know its still a long way to go, but I need to start somewhere and the only way is down ( sorry Yazz.lol.)..
Anyway off to read some diaries, catch up soon.

Dear diary, Another NSD today, and sales are still ticking over, infact by the weekend if all fees are paid, then I should have another 3% added to the total of my first debt making it 6%:j towards it being paid off. Also paid a sum off one of my other debts ( family member) which means that this week has been a pay off rather than an add to type of week.
I know exactly what I owe and to who and have a sort of plan to clear them, I am doing as before and focussing on one debt at a time while the others tick over on the minimums on 0%..the difference being is there is now only one income rather than the 2 so it will be a little slower, but with a bit of focus, I reckon we can crack on and get it cleared quicker than the DFD expected.;)

Whilst still not ready to post an SOA I know where the spends went, I am just readjusting and looking at all utilities and seeing how we can reduce them ( if at all). Fixed rate mortgage so no change there until end of next year, but hey gives us a year and a bit to tidy things up to get the best deal we can.

    Off now school run ..

  • Morning diary, and so I post with a smile this morning as I have another 1% added to funds for clearing debt number 1 :j. Although this may increase to 9% if I get paid for a couple of other things sold on the bay..:D
Weird though as although I post with a smile and really try and be upbeat about it.. I am infact a bit hacked off that it is only so many percent and not all of it..I know that every penny counts and all that and better reducing than increasing etc but I really can't shake the sad/depressed feeling that I will never get there..maybe I have not got over the fact that we are here again, maybe I am disgusted that the figure is where its at..Diary please note that I really am trying to do all the positives, reading diaries, doing budgets, NSD days staying on track but this feeling of sadness ( lets call it) just won't leave me. I won't be beaten, but I really wish this feeling would go/ reduce somehow..it overshadows the good..I should be overly excited that its 7% possible 9% and that is going down, and I am on the road to recovery..:D but I am not..
Oh well lets hope my next post is full of positives - have a great day
