Welcome dp, you will enjoy it here
How true Gers, we are all friends, yet we haven't met, we don't know what accent each of us has, and of course what each of us looks like.
It has been a lovely day here, washing dried, ironed and just about to put it away. We had to pop out for fresh fruit and veg this morning, but other than that not a lot done. The house is clean and tidy, DGD and BF are here, and Himself is feeling well.
TA so glad you enjoyed your holiday and you will soon lose those couple of pounds. We expect to eat more on holiday. I hope Mr. TAs scan goes well later this week, will keep my fingers crossed, always hopeful.
Enjoy the rest of your day

Hi chums, had a nice 'pottering day' stripped the bedding and got it not only washed, but dry as well
plus all the towels as well. Very humid and warm ,even though its cloudy atm.
Lots of catching-up jobs done, which is good as I have the boys tomorrow, not too sure what we will be doing, possibly clearing DDs garden a bit (well they will I will 'supervise):))
TA, I too put a wee bit on over the holidays, but it will soon come off once I'm back in a routine again. Its those dratted ice cream cornets on the beachbut that's what holidays are for
Hope Mr TA's scans go OK
Welcome dp we are all a pretty friendly bunch on here and although its unlikely that we will ever meet in RL we get to know each other fairly wellI am the dotty old dear with a tribe of grandkids and not enough time on my hands
multitude of interests though ,including people,
Always willing to give a virtual 'there, there' when needed
I'm sure you will soon get to know us all. Best of all there is no nastiness in this particular forum site we all seem to rub along quite well.
Right that's enough waffling from me I'm just going to get the kettle on(again:)) as my caffiene levels have fallen.
Cheers everyone

Hi everyone,
Welcome to dp - I echo what others have said in that this is a wonderfully supportive and friendly thread. Looking forward to getting to know you xx
We went to Ightham Mote today using our years NT membership. We last went in June the day after they had a horrible flood. The house and gardens had been closed so we used the tearoom and shop and came home. Today most of the house was open. They had a scavenger hunt, so DS2 who's 12 enjoyed finding the picture clues. We then had a cake and cuppa in the tearoom. Total spent £12 which wasn't too bad.
Just had a BBQ using up some burgers, sausages and steak from the freezer. We bought cake ingredients and DS2 made the cake we saw demo'd at Hampton Court yesterday. Lovely gluten free, orange and almond cake, not that we need gluten free here, but it tasted lovely.
DH has a scout planning meeting here tonight, so I will be getting on with my cross stitching. Hope you all have a great evening.

Thanks for all the lovely welcomes. Although some of the other forums can be helpful, I think this one is by far the friendliest. I asked a question on the benefits and tax credits forum one day....just wanting some info...and got some quite unpleasant replies. It put me off posting again.
Had a lovely quiet afternoon in my sunny garden; it got out quite hot too. Lazy evening now with the soaps.0 -
Evening folks. Just popping back on to give a warm welcome to TopsyMum and dp. I agree with others about this being a lovely supportive thread and a place to share good news and bad. And there's always a virtual ((HUG)) if you need one. I picture in my mind what everyone else looks like and am probably totally wrong!
I spent the morning tackling the ironing mountain (still half a mountain left) and after lunch decided to do a bit of weeding and watering. It wasn't long before I was taking advantage of the sunshine, relaxing in a garden chair with my book. All thoughts of weeding forgotten!
Just getting myself organised now for the second episode of Victoria. After visiting Osborne House last week we are eager to know a bit more about her! Not a bad "holiday home" she had there!
