Hi all,
Still overcast here, looks like the sun is on its way back though:D
Rare treat this morning, DD and her BF are cooking a full English for us - bless.... They have even promised to clear up after
DH has had to pop into the job he,s in to let the painter in, but should be back soon, then not a lot else planned.
Falafel burgers, mint yoghurt and sweet potatoes fries for dinner :j
Have a wonderful BH for those lucky enough to have it XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Good Morning all ,had a nice lazy lie -in, most unlike me as I am normally up and about by 6.00 but today I decided to have a bit longer so managed to stay in bed until 7.30
:):) which really is a lie-in for me
ironing to do this morning and some general pottering around.I may run my car up to the car wash as I get a full inside and out for £2.00 cheaper as I'm a pensioner I have a large 7 seater car which is considerably taller than I am hence the reason it goes to Sgt Bills car wash, well worth the £8.00 now and again and it will get rid of all the sand, dog hairs etc that its picked up over the past 2 weeks
Lunch will be a cheese salad I think and dinner tonight probably a jacket spud with some more salad not too much in the way of cooking today as its far too warm already
Hope everyone has a good day whatever they are doing
Cheers chums JackieO xx
P.S. DD's new dog Bowie is pretty cute, and very obedient for a rescue dog0 -
Morning all,
Nice bright day here again I have a load on the line and another in the wm and another to go in ! god only knows where it all comes from !
We emptied the loft yesterday bought everything down and went through the lot we kept hold of so much c**p its unbelievable ! there is a huge pile for the Charity shop and a pile for the tip, also gave away a brand new sink and pedestal which was too big for our bathroom and for some reason we kept ! I offered it free on FB and someone is coming to collect tomorrow. We have put about 10 things back in the loft and that is it ! We also cleared the loft room which is a massive storage room off of our bedroom which is also now clear, this week I am slowly doing to do the rest of the house I am a woman on a mission !!
Need to do a tip run today and have a tidy through, Evie may very well drag us to the pub tonight !
Sausage mash and onion gravy for dinner which will be nice, although maybe too hot for this type of meal, but its OH favourite.
Jackie has your DD got the dog already ? she sounds like a lovely little one xx
Have good day all xx0 -
EBay stuff parceled up, DD1 visited and took our BBQ with them, I've swept the decking so it's looking better now.
My L&M is painting the spare room it won't take long, he works fast.
I'm going to look for more stuff to EBay, strike whilst the iron is hot is my motto today.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning everyone,
I do like this thread,so chatty and friendly and lovely to see what people are up to.Thanks for the lovely welcome the other day.
Yesterday I had a lovely day out with my parents and my girls so wasn't on at all.
Today me and my girls are having a lovely lazy day, they are playing games and I'm going to be having a good old look around on here-not often I have such a lazy day so really looking forward to it!
Few loads of washing out on the line drying in the lovely sunshine and I'm currently trying to decide what we should have for tea tonight.
Hope you all have a lovely day xx0 -
Greetings, all.
I didn't post yesterday, so a belated welcome to TopsyMum
Hi Chums DD has got herself a 2 year old Lurcher from the rescue home called Bowie, the little dog seems to be taken with him. Just have to see how he settles in.ancientofdays wrote: »When I came down I could hear rustling from outside and ended up having to go out and re-bag the rubbish - two massive seagulls had ripped the bin bag to pieces. Not that there would have been much there for them, a few scraps perhaps but perhaps they were trying to get at bones, which were wrapped.
I have a million and one little irritating tasks that want doing; but I don't give much for the chances of me getting them done, somehow. Life - and Mr LW - seem to get in the way of me achieving anything these days.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Just thought I'd join in and say hi. I read every day but haven't posted often.
Had a bad week last week as I had a bad case of flu and spent 4 days in bed. Feeling a little better now, though still quite weak and wobbly....so hopefully I'll have a better week.
Youngest DD is working so I'm home alone....sun is shining so I'm panning to sit outside with yesterday's newspaper. Had a lovely Skype chat with eldest DD yesterday....she is working as an intern in Holland for a year.
Hope everyone has a nice day.0 -
I hope you feel better soon dp1Chin up, Titus out.0

Afternoon!
Left home at 7.00a.m., called at the local garage for hot coffee and takeaway bacon roll, called at PO delivery office to collect a packet which I couldn't collect on Saturday because there was a rash of sickness amongst the staff and it was closed - arrived at 7.15a.m. and the sign outside said 'open at 7.30a.m.' whilst the card that was left said '7.00a.m'. Didn't bother!
Drove to the airport and deposited my lovely friend at the drop off point and then drove home via Helensburgh for a little bit of shopping. I managed to get to the PO delivery office before it closed again at midday.
I had texted the plumber again about my upstairs loo - I thought I had cleared it but that was shortlived so he called round and had to rod the septic tank trap. I won't go into details but suffice to say that all is now clear, finally.
I did two loads of washing which have dried in the sun, which is just as well as it's now disappeared and the cloud has taken over again. All in all it's been a beautifully hot and sunny weekend which I've thoroughly enjoyed.
Now I may just rest...I'm off to Oban tomorrow afternoon for a curriculum meeting so I hope for a lie in.
Welcome to dp - it is very friendly here with lots of inconsequential chat. I love the insight I get into the lives of other people all over different parts of the UK, their ups and downs are all out here along with doggie dramas, children dramas, OH tantrums and all else.0
