LizEstelle, before you take this advice, check out some of this poster's recent comments on other threads. He seems to be deliberately posting wildly incorrect information and then provoking a fight anyone who disagrees.
For reference, a Ford Mondeo is a very long car (too long to fit most supermarket spaces without overhanging) and even the Octavia is way bigger than your post suggests you would be happy with.
Don't worry. I'm not 'Mondeo Woman'.
A big thank you again to everyone who has tried to help.0 -
Sorry to resurrect this yet again but the other half has twisted my arm to consider an automatic. In my stupidity I'd forgotten that arthritis is becoming a problem and this might be an easier option for driving.
Can anyone suggest an automatic which also fits these criteria? In my naivety, I don't know whether all cars come available as automatics or not, sorry!0 -
Small cars are less likely to come as automatic, but as auto becomes more popular, so availability will improve. Most small cars will, but 'old' auto gearboxes sap power and make cars slower and less economical - this is more noticeable with a small car, and you'll often find that the auto gearbox is only available on the bigger engines.0
